It would just increase pressure in public access, hence pushing the elk even harder into private outfitted areas. Not really solving the issue of too many elk unless they get the outfitters to shoot more or grant access.

It's just going to be a money maker for the wagonhound bc they own like 125,000 acres. 30% of the unit is public. Turning it general wont help the issue at hand when the public land hunter wont be able to kill them anyways. You can give out 7k tags in there but if the elk are on private you're SOL. Unless you pay the wagonhound some crazy cash.
