It happens, and I hope you found a solution Rock.Non-resident. Drew a Unit 84 Type 1 tag. Regulations specify "Any elk valid on private land...". If "returning" it is even an option it's not clear if my points can be restored. My intention was to get a General tag, so I'm not sure how I screwed that up, but I am where I am.
So, how do I go about finding and contacting a land owner to get access to use the tag? To be clear, I'm not looking to get a free ride.
Short of returning with point restoration or finding private access, can I donate to a non-profit for a needy person? Or is there another option I'm not aware of?
Thank you,

EDIT:
I suppose maybe an outfitter can help. Now looking through https://wyoga.org/.
So, I put my wife and I in for the same tag in Wyoming. Nowhere on the application page did it say it was private land only. I also spent two months going back and forth with fish and game trying to turn it in and they decided not to let me. Did you ever figure anything out?Non-resident. Drew a Unit 84 Type 1 tag.
