There are two types of countries in the world:

Those who use metric, and those who put a man on the moon.

Now, pardon me while I go eat some bacon while driving my diesel to the gun range to shoot machineguns, while listening to some Lee Greenwood.
Lee greenwood? There is far better representation of American music than greenwood. Zeppelin for one.

So…is there an estimated time on this hitting the market? I don’t need exact dates. I just bought a new rifle and rather put my trusted leupolds on top…I’d be willing to sip some kool aid. I like kool aid.
That's an easy conundrum; just buy a new rifle to put one of these scopes on when they come out.

Consider it handled.

In all seriousness. I’m looking for a maven right now. And remembered this option.

I’m not trashing my leupolds. But I’m not so dedicated that I refuse to try something else. Other than swfa. Muddy glass my last experience with that brand.

Already bought the rifle. I just want to go shoot it and get ready for hunting season in May.
Yep, I did read it that you just got a new rifle. I meant get another one.

Seriously though, judging by the time frame from nascent thought to product in hand I've watched on some shooting items, I wouldn't be too confident of getting one on my rig before May. Look how long it's taking SWFA to roll out updated models, and they've been in the scope business for a long time.

But I have zero experience in bringing a scope to market, so I could surely be way off.

Any chance this is the new rifle scope Maven teased on the Rokcast episode TT#45 released on 12/31?

As much as I’d love to buy another rifle I just can’t justify it. My family of 5 with 3 dogs occupy a 550sq foot home.

But I have been considering a 338winmag guide gun but it would be for iron sights only.

I have no idea on developing and marketing etc…

After May, I got September timeline. May is just for bears and it’ll only be a very short season for me. River open. Hunt when I can but then I got school in June.

Would love to use this 7PRC on a bear.

like everything about my nx8 1-8x dmx capped, just update it to .1 mil/click, and it just works/fits on short little 308 with 14" lop, but I'm niche midrange-ish and hunting plus gp, be nice to see some lower mag stuff that doesn't need illumination for the low end or parallax adjust,

something without a left side turret but everything else durability wise would be refreshing for pure hunter setup but red dot to 10 mil precision tree versatility is nice, could be a little longer to fit more rigs but stay 30mm, add some length and maybe throw a bell on the front end up to 40mm with a 10x top end, that would add some versatility over compatibility to a stubby 308 and it's limitations

a 2-10x40mm nx8 f1 capped dmx-ish plus a dialling version (elev only) and ditch the left side turret with more usable reticle design for the low end mag range - heavier larger donut, heavier cross posts and bottom post, leave the top fairly open...just update the dmx to not need illum. for hunting scope vs 3-gun etc. it was designed for, add a couple more thread points for throw lever for the bolt action guys too

gen2 3-9x swfa but nf, maven, trijicon interpretations of basically what that might end up being, 2-10x etc. low profile capped windage, simple hunt, no left side gizmos pure function and tough, no fat, and steady eye relief at least 3.75" range on low end but a 4" to 3.5" goal through range

love the capped and dialling elev. options nf has on that 1-8x...if you can't read little stuff anymore and just want to reticle straight from your ballistic bino then you have a no fat option capped, if you can see and or prefer to dial then with the two options you cover for those eyes and guys too,

Yes I would buy this scope. To bring the thread back on track. Please lock the turret if possible, not just zero stop. I mean if your building the perfect hunting scope why not?! The button style turret lock on the atacr 4-16 or the mark 5 would be great. Or like was mentioned before the turret lift style on the razor lht. Backpack hunters will appreciate. Rare to slip a turret unintentionally but it happens. I would love a 2.5-15 or 3-15 though. My 2.5-10x42 leaves alot to be desired past 500 when weather conditions aren’t optimal and an animal might be partially obscured or around other animals. Not to mention at the range shooting smaller targets. I don’t see a 12 being THAT much better in that regard but I’ll take what I can get. 40mm obj would be great to keep the weight down on these $$$ lightweight mountain rifles were all totin around the mountains. Seems like it’s been hard to get 44 obj scopes under the 20 oz mark and I bet most eyes can’t see a difference (brightness) for 95% of daylight hours. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m sure someone will…
