Put it on the pack horse, under soft pannier, butt forward, on side. Game changer. You can thank me later lol.

Yep! i do similar just put it on top of the soft pannier. Using sawbucks and strap it tight to the tree. Have a rifle on both sides in outfitters supply cases.
