Woodsman or Reckoning

I would definitely not want the Reckoning AND many additional pockets. That would get heavy and unwieldy pretty quick I would think. A few light bags to organize contents and carried in the side pockets works well. It’s a great pack when heavy, it’s right on the edge for me when in day mode.

If you are Bivy hunting, a woodsmen should work just fine. Spartan and light is the name of that game. Spike camping, it could get tight if you are in for a bunch of days. But, I’m getting in the bigger bag group everyday. You can always not pack it full.

Reckoning sucks down tight in day mode. With a large pocket on the lid, Nalgene bottle holder and a small pouch on the belt tips the scale at 6.5 lbs On a 24 inch light frame. With just the reckoning on the frame it is sub 6lbs. Very versatile bag that can run clean in day mode and expand and carry just about anything you can throw at it.
