I guess I don't understand why you would want to mount a pocket on the back, if so why not get a Tahr? If you put pockets on the back the zipper would pretty much be useless.

Agreed, but if you don't plan on using the center zip all the time it's a good option. Probably not a popular one though

There's just alot of features I love about this pack (built-in in meat shelf, bladder between bag and frame, handles, less straps everywhere, the way the straps attach in the middle, sleeves) and the center zip is one of the one's I care about the least lol

Anyone trimming the snow collar on their Reckoning and running a Guide lid? Probably tricky with the zipper in the way

Woodsman looks like a center zip Tahr in that it sits very high on the frame.

Agreed. My Sitka bivy has the fold top lid. I like that feature a lot. Meat shelf would be nice also for quick loads.

Haha, yeah I know but I would rather have two built in pockets over the center zip. I still will probably end up with a reckoning tho.
