You should of got the RG MW when it was on sale for $210.

The whole bag not just the lid.

When that bags empty the lid is going to hang like shit as you will have the length of the buckles in the way, the top won't suck tight to the frame like I can with my current guide lid with ladder locks on it. Guaranteed the guide lid covers the entire zipper when not much is in it. If I need to use the meat shelf I need to remove a couple buckles from the bag and move them to the frame. "Undo this, undo that, hook this up now". For ME it's to much. No need to have the straps that attach to the lid movable up and down the daisy chain either. The less shit I need to fiddle with the better.

I get what was being done, but in doing so I feel like to many concessions were made to include "everything". Especially the meat shelf.

The good news is that you don't have to buy the bag. They have options for just about anybody. I like it and think I'll give it a try and compare it to my AMR.

Thanks for the update..I had no idea.

I'm really tempted to pick up a reckoning. It's almost exactly what I was hoping for before getting an argali and some pockets. Although I don't care about the bladder access or shelf.

I like the reckoning. If i didn't have my EMRII, it's what I would by. Yes the EMRII takes a lot of strap management, but in reality it's probably just an extra minute or two and I can run it in day mode or load up huge loads. I'm not a mountain monster, the EMRII can carry more than I can. the Reckoning would probably be perfect.

Really digging the woodsman, been using the 22 mag and I works great on the 22" frame but this is really tempting! Love the center zip on my apollo but it's not enough room for long days in elk country, I think this is will be a good size for elk and blacktails day hunts. Think I am going to stick with the AMR for my large pack though

So there's 4 bags in the 4800ci range now (only counting main compartment). Reckoning, Mountain warrior, markhor, and DT2. Options...

This!
I am fond of putting my spotting scope and tripod in the inner wing pockets and leaving my puffy and rain jacket in the outter zip pockets. I keep my gloves and padded seat in the shorty out side pockets. I just cant see going in the main bag for everything if I go with a reckoning.

I couldn't pass up that MW in ranger green for $210. Should be here tomorrow. Just curious why the MW with standard lid was 210 and same bag no lid was 245?

I think it was a system glitch and was supposed to be $280 not $210, guessing it wasn't really a sale but they honored the glitch.

Agreed, I've seen it a few different times. Good on kifaru for honoring it.
