These guys always produce great videos. This one is no exception.

I've never hunted wolves but the actions/reactions of these wolves surprise me.
It's almost like they've never been hunted. And there's certainly no shortage of them.

Does anyone know the circumstances of this hunt?

Yes, it's Alberta.

I thought all non-canadians were required to be guided. Maybe they are.

How the wolves act is what's really weird to me.

Are they acting like the ones you guys are seeing in the other videos you've recommended;
coming out in broad daylight, not leaving the country at the shot, etc?

And those first wolves were fat as ticks. Looked like zoo animals.

Any wolfers on RS that can offer their opinion?

Guide doesn't have to sit and hold your hand....they can put you on a stand. Which is pretty much what this is. "here is a carcass or good spot...go sit there..."

Certainly wish my 2 wolf hunts went like theirs. But I have never seen two guys Fiddle F around more trying to get a shot.

Overall, whether you like them or not, it was a good video and probably the best wolf one I have ever seen by far.

Looks to me like that lake has been heavily baited for a good bit and the birds and wolves are accustomed to the situation.

I had the opposite take on the video. Too cinematic (?) to me, to much mood music, b roll, slow mo’s of sleds being drug and odd close ups and angles.
To me its the fault of most artists. Like a music band. They start out rough, raw, authentic, but then become big and get artsy, over produced and commercialized.
Like this video. And thats where they lose me.
I much prefer artists in their middle stages of skillfully done but not overdone.

@mt terry d I never watched the video link, but here is my response the questions asked.

I thought all non-canadians were required to be guided. Maybe they are. Yes they are, but as WCB said they bring you out to a heated blind over frozen lake that's been heavily baited and you call/radio back once you've shot or they just come pick you up at the blind after dark

How the wolves act is what's really weird to me. again i didn't watch it, but how so ?

Are they acting like the ones you guys are seeing in real life?
coming out in broad daylight, Yes & No. In heavily populated wolf country, we see them in broad daylight quite often, happens more so when they are accustomed to bait site that gets reloaded every couple days.

not leaving the country at the shot, etc? Depends on circumstances, longer shot with wind in your face and a suppressed rifle, they will absolutely hang around a bit after the shot, but more times than not they are gone after hearing the shot.

And those first wolves were fat as ticks. Looked like zoo animals. can't comment as i didn't watch the video, but I'm guessing that are plenty fat after gorging on bait site and they are going to always look larger this time of year with their full winter coats.

You think cause my sensibilities dont prefer something that means I must be able to do better? If i dont like minivans does that mean I must be able to build a better grocery go getter?
