7.5mi and 2900vert. My youngest went up a ridge and I went up another and we met up top. I saw 6 bucks, but no shooters. My youngest saw cows. The wife and our oldest took a UTV ride to a completely different spot to check the snow conditions and glass a little then they came home to do all the Thanksgiving prep.

Now… I’m gonna have a couple of my double New England IPAs from the best brewery on the planet, then have some dinner. Have a good Thanksgiving fellas.

12 miles and just under 3000', the climb was tough, but the descent much worse. We saw a few smaller bulls and am damn glad we didn't go after any of them. I barely made it down w/ just my pack—super steep with just the right (wrong) conditions w/ the snow. Very slippery going down having to dodge numerous cliff bands; barely made it down with just my pack! :D

I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving. My daughter came home from college so we spent a lot of time together. Didn’t kill anything but saw a lot of 3 yo bucks that she didn’t want to shoot.
Still got my workouts in except Thursday/friday
The cold has set in for the next 4 days down here.

My oldest son’s buddy shot a pretty good 6x7 yesterday, so he helped pack today. The youngest and I did 6mi and 2700vert. I passed on 2 mulies. We’ve been able to pick up some moose paddles from the same bulls over the last few years and we located one of them today. He’s right where he should be and my boy set up 2 cameras.
I won’t go out tomorrow, so tonight was the walk of shame. I ate my deer tag. When I passed on 2 of the bucks last week, I knew it would be hard to find a bigger one. All in all, a decent year.

No hunting on the last day of the MT season. I reacquainted myself with the weight room for the first time in about 10 days. Did 3 sets of a head to toe lift.

Squat/Calf Raise/Plyos
Pull Ups
Fisio Sit Up

Bench
Barbell Curl
Hanging Knees 2 Chest

Hanging Clean & Press
DB Shrug
TRX Knees 2 Chest

90sec Deadhang

Have to fly out early tomorrow for work. I’ll be able to get PT in, but will definitely be making do and short on time for the next 2 weeks.

Last day of the season; left the truck at 5:00 AM, returned at 7:00 PM- 11 tough miles (~3000' w/ snow). Got into elk, wind was in my favor but couldn't get a shot in the tangled mess they were. They slowly went out of sight, after an hour I decided to pick up their tracks and see where they were headed. Turns out they were headed on quite an adventure :D— dropping significant elevation only to climb significant elevation and even crossed my own tracks through a high saddle I made in my headlamp. They dropped off the backside of the saddle into a large, tight new growth lodgepole patch. The wind was no longer in my favor and I let them go.

Did see a nice buck on the way out, but he saw me before I saw him and dove off into a hell hole.

Oh well, way worse ways to spend the day.

5 miles (600') with my wife and Tiny Elvis—trails are almost entirely ice; spikes are not optional
