6 sets of front squats 65-145
4 sets of seated calf raises 90
5 sets of OHP 65-135
4 sets of bicep curls 20-35
6x80 yard farmers carries 110#
3x15 oblique twists
10:00 foam roller and stretching

Last night another 10 arrows @ 30. Got two more nock tuned and hitting spot on.

I was pressed for time today, did this one in the garage.


For Time - 21/15/9

- Overhead Squat (110#)
- Box jumps (24”)
- Russian KB swings (53#)

(14:21)

That OHS weight was definitely outside of my comfort zone. I had to break up the 1st and second set.

30 Rounds for time:
- 5 Wall Balls (20#)
- 3 HSPU
- 1 Power Clean (185#)

RX for this WOD was 225/155# on the Power Cleans, but that’s far above my current PC 1RM, so I scaled the PC down to 185#, which is 92.5% of my current PC max (200#) and 85% of my current squat clean max (220#). So it was a very heavy weight that I had to really think about before each rep. Also, added one abmat cushion for the Handstand push-ups.

I completed 16 rounds total in 38:40 but I stopped there. I was WAY too dizzy for the last 10-12 min and I almost blacked out on the last PC rep. I Had to squat clean most of them. I really liked this WOD, but I should have scaled the PC weight down to 175 or even 165#. But the glute held up so that’s the good news.

Nothing like Donuts and Beer after a tough Saturday WOD!

strength train this afternoon; I have to say this (and the one I did earlier with squats/bench/pullups) is a pretty darn good sub 20 minute session

5 sets with a 60 second rest between sets

deadlifts 5 reps @ 75% of 1RM
overhead press 5 reps @ 75% of 1RM
chin-ups 14 reps

Active recovery day. Ride my bike a few miles out to a section of little creek near my house that I’ve been wanting to try out. Then hiked a couple miles with the 3wt rod and rode back. Heat was blazing but it was worth the effort.
