Tiny and I up early for a nice 3-ish mile hike on the trails. Our heat wave continues (this has been the longest heat wave I've ever experienced in my almost 60 years); thank God it cools nicely by early morning (upper 50's today)!

I wanted to try the interval running portion of the SG email workout. By far the worst aspect of my fitness is running. Never been my thing at all, so I know I'll have to work more on it.

All I can say is some of y'all are fast. My best lap time was 2 min. Avg on the 800m's was 2:30 lap time. I finished all the running in 35 minutes. Slow as molasses.

To push myself further I went ahead and did 5 rounds of stadiums. Next time I'm doing some lunges to see how that goes.

Yep, looks pretty good. Done lots of 100 pound lunges this year, not for that kind of distance.

I'm pretty sure theirs a couple guys that post on this thread that could do them unbroken. I'm planning on trying the lunge portion in the next couple weeks.

Lunges are the one thing that at least for me I have to ignore the pain and just keep moving.

I will say this, your one guy that I feel does the work to stay in shape year round better than just about everyone else.

did you other guys see this "Stone Glacier" workout? I'm a longs way off from running through it, but am trying to work towards it

Thank you Sir! :) It definitely helps that I enjoy getting in the winter as much as I do the rest of the year (well most of the winter anyways :D)

Tiny E and I hit the "big hill" early- it gains 1000' in 3/4 of mile, then loop around the back side of the mountain for 3 miles total

nice 5.5 miles on the trails early, close to a 1000' of gain

two sets of 100 meter lunges, unbroken, but unweighted

I'll bump it up to 125 next week, I'll eventually get to 200 unbroken and start adding weight

10 minutes to establish a 1RM clean

Then teams of 3

30 cal assault bike each

20(135 lbs) - 30(115 lbs) - 40(95 lbs) thruster, all working at once as soon as one person sets bar down everyone has to set down.

400 m run each

20 muscle ups - 30 C2B - 40 pull-ups. Once one drops all drop

30 cal assault bike each

20(135) - 30(115) - 40(95) hang snatch, same as above work as a team one set down all set down.

The load and reps can be split however. Pretty fun workout for a team workout.

Tried the SG email lunges today. Welp, I did 200m of em and probably gonna pay for it. I walked a warm up lap and a lap in between sets of 100m. Probably the biggest leg pump I've ever had. Walked a lap after and ran one 400m lap. Finished out with 3 rounds of 5 pull ups/10 dips and 8 big ass tractor tire flips.

set the alarm for 3:30, at the trailhead at a little after 4:00- back at the truck before 7:30 with 17 miles

little smoky here; I guess that's to be expected with 400,000 acres and counting burned :(
