broke the pack frame out again, 35 lbs 5 miles, with 1300' in the first mile; Elkhorns with a nice gleam

Took the bag of water softener salt for a hike yesterday, 3.71mi @ 1,200ft of elevation gain. Averaged 2.5 mi/hr uphill, worked over today.

That’s a good hump right there! I don’t do it much anymore, but I used to strap a 5 gallon jug of water to my SG pack frame and carry that up the mountains, then I’d dump it out when I got to the top so I wouldn’t beat the hell out of my knees on the way down.

Just over 10 miles today but, only about 400’ of elevation gain and packing my heavy ass S&W .500 for the first time this year…’tis the season!
