Happy to report I'm out safe ( but very sore! :)) We covered 32 miles on day 1 (went until about 11:30 PM in headlamps); quite a bit of snow on the passes, but definitely less than most years. Got rained on for better than half the day, creeks got swollen (more than normal) and I got swept on one of the fords- wet from the neck down, not fun. It rained most of the first night, but thankfully quit about 5:00 AM. Day 2 We crossed the South Fork of the Flathead via a long stock bridge- absolutely no way to cross without it, the river was very high and very angry! We would still need to cross two more rivers, but without the aid of any bridge and decided it was best to bail- covered 20 miles that day. We covered roughly half our intended route.

I'm seriously considering finish the second half of route soon as the weather looks dry (drier anyways) which should slow the flows. Hate to leave things half finished!

65 mins at 12% incline and 2.3mph pace with no pack. Heart rate = 119-125bpm

I’ve been regularly exercising for almost a month and want to loose 18 more pounds. I’ve done enough reading on working out in zone two so I wanted to give it a go before elk season.
