@InkedElkSlayer I feel your pain. I went to my first wrestling tournament as a dad this weekend. I spent six hours in the gym. My kid wrestled for a total of ~10 minutes!

3 miles with a 30# pack today.
I’m on year 13. In the off season, I PT with several of the kids that can handle the prerequisites of my gym (I pick ALL music, routine obscene language, hazing is embraced, I lift barefoot, plus a few others).
If you stay with it, the level of competition will increase exponentially, but the amount of bleacher time will stay the same. My youngest wrestled 9 matches in 2 days. I almost added something about it to my post after Friday… My PT sessions this time of year are put into perspective when I watch these guys cutting weight, dehydrating out and working as hard as they do.
Have fun with it.

Awesome way to keep the kids engaged in the off season and teach them what it’s like to suffer. You are the man! Those young men will never forget those training sessions. Get them dialed in early for a life of struggle with fitness.

Well our three day snowshoe was turned into a two day trip- we fell short of our goal for night one due to lots of rotten (sugar) snow; decided we better bag and ended spending the night on a high ridge. Day one was super rough- 8 miles and 2800' of gain (about a 30 lb pack) through way too much bad snow; day two was better as we only had to climb about 900' on the way back AND we had a broken trail back to the truck.

Wee bit sore this morning :D

Beautiful country!!!

This is our second winter attempt to access a remote basin the Scapegoat Wilderness; our first attempt we had good snow, but thought we could make it all the way in/out in two days and could not. This time we added an extra day, but the snow really sucked. Maybe the our third attempt will be the charm :D

It sounds like you're getting your plan dialed in, next year will be the one.
