Spur 60...want to elaborate on Nissan - oof? I know that Titans have a tone of issues but looking at 2008-2011 Nissan Frontiers. Sounds like you have some experience with a variety of vehicles

Brother in law has been waiting on parts for 4 months to fix electrical gremlins in his 22 or 23 titan pro4x. Father in law just bought a brand new frontier in June or July and it's been back to the dealership three times for annoying issues with the interior lights and one of the climate control functions.

The last few years has shown the American consumer will pay insane prices for everything, $100,000 trucks, $5,000 rifles, $500 jackets, $500 arrows. Prices will not come down as long as people keep buying.

Most of the "free" covid $$$ has been spent.

RV prices have dropped a bunch. Used motorcycles have dropped.
I expect decent used vehicle prices to drop a little however their cost is
supported by crazy new prices and ever increasing EPA BS requirements.

New prices? Probably climb as virtually anyone foolish enough to buy new
will continue to pay more and more regardless of what the cost is because they can swing the payments. That's why it's rare to see any new vehicle's actual price in an ad but you'll see
" only $$$$ a month".

I sub'd to this with a reply at some point, but I sold my 2016 Ram 2500 in Feb 2022 for $61000, and I must have gotten an Edmunds or KBB estimate that required my email at some point, so I get monthly emails on how much my truck is worth now if I was still selling it. Last month the email said about $35000, and this month it's saying about $33000, so I'd say used vehicle prices must be coming down bigly.

My 401k is counting on the stock market continuing to rise. Unfortunately, the price everything else will also.

My 2023 Trail Boss was in shop for a system update when they told me the ECM of something needed replaced and the part was on backorder with no idea when it'll be in. I put on tons of miles and like to trade every two years. So in a panic and pissed I had a salesman work up a trade deal, he comes to me with "we can get you 3.9% for 60 months and the payment is only $1333". I said no, no, no Johnny, you show me what you're valuing mine at and how much you brought yours down.

F that, I'll run this '23 into the ground, so long as the sumbitch runs that long. I was easy on their new loaner Equinox for 15 days, only drove in four picked corn fields and put on 1300 miles, about half on gravel.

I think I'll put the money to trade into my '84 Squarebody K20.

Bought a Ford Bronco Sport Badlands edition last night. Went fairly well until we had to meet with the dealership "finance manager". Seems they were adding on an additional charge of some kind at every turn. Out of the 400 vehicles this dealership sells a month, I am the only one who has ever rejected the extended warranty. Is this true?

There are "deals" to be had if you are willing to look for them. Dealer was 2 hours away.
I recently traded a '21 F150 with 79K miles for a new '24 F150. Didn't need it, but wanted it. Really wanted to get a Chevy with the 3.0, but they wouldn't deal, so stuck with the 5.0 as I have had very good luck with it.
They gave me what I would consider a fair price, based on KBB and other online trade in calculators, and they came off MSRP on the new truck over $14,000.
The new truck is the same trim level as my old truck, but they have upgraded some features in the 3 years, and I could transfer my camper shell, seat covers and floor protectors over.
I did finance the difference at 1.9% for 36 months, because I am getting 4.25% in a high yield saving account on my money.

If I could get $40,000 out of my 2500 Ram 2016 that b!tch would be going down the driveway tomorrow. Its only got 240K on it. I am the only owner. It has the original brakes on it still....

I'm wondering if now is the best possible to buy a vehicle. Prices are crazy, but will they get worse? Will they ever come down?

Based on the fattened pig mentality, dealerships are getting used to fetching premiums for vehicles and will probably do everything in their power to keep prices high and stay fat and happy.

• Vehicles I looked at purchasing 6 years ago are selling for more now than they were back then.
• 20 years ago a Z71 pickup was ~$22k new, now they are three times that.

What do you think? Get in now before it continues to climb or keep driving the beater and crossing fingers that things get better?
I would say no...not much ever comes down in price once raised.

Cheese and rice. “Only a $1333 for 60 months” makes me feel very poor.

I feel sorry for the average guy who does payments on a new vehicle. Interest rates are insane, coupled with insane vehicle prices. The promo rates are still good, but they usually aren't on the vehicle you want, it's on the vehicle they want you to buy.

The thing that sucks is that the used market is also dictated by the new market so if the new market prices continue to climb, used will follow right along with them.

Then add tax and license and full coverage insurance.
Crazy.
