Who to cut and recrown a Tikka Barrel?

I’ve heard good things about Kampfeld. I don’t have any experience with any gunsmith, but I have a couple Tikka barrels I plan to get cut down and will probably use him.

Therein lies the problem.
You don't have a single good gunsmith locally or within an hour drive? Cutting, crowning, and threading a barrel is basic gunsmithing. If they have a lathe, more times than not, they should know what they are doing.

I had Kampfeld cut two superlites to 18” thread them and add a flared adapter to one of them. Turned out great.

Lot of places don’t. A couple years ago I had a local “gunsmith” do a muzzle thread for me. They even managed to do a muzzle thread improperly.

Damn.... My pops is a gunsmith by trade. I guess I was spoiled to some extent as a kid. Sucks to see that trade go down the drain.

I've used Mike at Alpine Rifles, Kampfeld, Thunderbeast, and Long RIfles Inc., as well as some other smiths in the past. The 4 listed here all do superb work.
