Who Hunts Using Suppressed Guns?

Most gunsmiths should be able to do a good job. But the only gunsmiths local to me who don’t have a huge waitlist are the ones I would not trust to install a new sling. So I usually send them off. I used UM for one of them. No issues at all. I have used Silencer Central’s service for four rifles without complaint. And I have two at Kampfeld Customs right now.

How long is the turnaround supposed to be at Kampfeld? My local smith just closed his books to catch up on backlog.

I don’t have one. Hearing is pretty much done for anyways but they are really nice.

With how much more affordable they have gotten between suppressors and no tax, I am far more inclined to get one. It’s always been cost prohibitive to me.

I had shit get a touch western on a Montana hunt a couple years ago. Ended with a dead deer, but in the process there was some shooting, with a muzzle brake, ear pro still in my hat. Went home from that trip and started putting together a rifle build with the suppressor being the first thing I bought. Will never go back as long as it’s legal to do so.

Have one on order through the Silencer Shop for my 300 blackout.

I don't own one. I see the benefits. But everything costs money, and Lets see....$750 gun, $350 scope, another $900 for scope coming this fall, $400 stock, base and rings...reloading supplies....etc, etc, etc, etc,...Lord.....

Not in the cards anytime soon. Unless there is a lightweight, short, effective one out there for a couple hundred bucks.
I’d keep the $350 swfa and go factory on all the rest if it was the difference between suppressor or not.

Looking to get my first. What are guys using on 6.5PRC? Really would like to keep it under $1000

Stick with titanium and lightweight. There are so many suppressors out there with weight and size you don’t need. Your top recommendations here are going to be OG 6.5 and Airlock ZG 6.5.

I’d get the OG 6.5 if you’re using a tikka factory barrel. If you have a carbon barrel or a very short barrel, then an Airlock.
