I am kicking this off with my first suppressed rifle, my Ruger American Ranch gen 2 5.56 rifle. I had fast results of getting my silencer tax stamp with the help of the Silencer Shop.

Congrats. Looks like you got an AB A10?
Great can. I love mine on my 223.

I don’t know anybody who owns a suppressor who chooses to not use it.
I know plenty of people who don’t own one, who make up plenty of excuses for why they don’t need one. Then once they get their first can, all those excuses go out the window.

Hunting suppressed is the only way to roll unless you live in a state where they aren't allowed. In that case, move haha.

Yes, and certainly yes when hunting with kids. The ability to easily communicate can not be understated. One example I have been through with my kids, we have a "brow tine only" regulation here- so no spikes. When there are spikes and brow tine bulls present, I can easily direct them to not shoot the spike. The reduced muzzle blast improves everyones shooting, especially newer shooters.

Its the only way I hunt now. Its been a game changer for me. Seems to add less confusion to spotter/shooter situations, but more confusion to the animals which alot of time allows for a second shot. Or in my example this year, I shot a cow elk at 410. The herd she was with didnt know what happened so they ran to about 100 yards from us and just looked around. If my buddy had a tag it would of been an easy gimme after my shot.

It will be my next purchase for my Ruger American Gen 2 Predator and then be able to use it on my others as well. Cant wait!

Never used one in 75 years of shooting. Don't plan on setting up one of my guns to use one either. I use good high grade ear protection during all of my shooting except for hunting. I also wear hearing aids that are setup to compensate for loud noises. I wear the aids because of working all my career around rivet guns, jet engines and heavy machinery, not from shooting noise!

If you’ve hunted all your life without suppressors or hearing protection that has damaged your hearing as much as the other stuff

I have hunted with supressor once. That was enough experience to say no more. Having supressor on hunting rifle is cumbersome when spot and stalk in heavy timber. But I understand trend from hunters using blind or backcountry hunters who strapping guns to backpack.
