I absolutely love the 200 NPT in any 30-06. However , have only used on big hogs. It hurt them really bad! Does it do it as well on cow elk, break bones/penetrate, hurt them bad as well, etc? Same with the 175 NPT in 7mm Rem Mags, I have no experience with it. I Have only used the 7mm RM for deer/antelope, and that was about 40 yrs ago. I have owned/shot alot of bigger 7mms, but no kills ( I was in my 300 Mags/338 Mags stage then, ha I hunted with those. ") Now I'm settling down to using the '06/7mm RM. I appreciate hearing any reviews on these two bullets/cartridges? I' not leaving my favorite monos out, but I would like to use these two combinations next year, just brain storming here...

I am interested in what people say here. I plan on using the eldx 162 gr in my 7mm RM. If I can find a good charge weight and it groups well.

I give the 7mm Partitions two thumbs up! My favorite is the 160 gr, for everything, but I used to shoot the 175s with elk and 140s for deer and antelope. They are pretty boring - just kill everything they are pointed at.

I’m trying to remember why I stopped shooting the 175 gr - it was a long time ago. I did have a penetration box filled with clay sand and both penetrated a similar distance. Whatever the reason, I’ve never felt the bullet was lacking. :-)

Sweet! I always felt like either the 160 or 175 should be used on elk in about any 7mm round. I loaded the 160 Speer HC to 2800fps for a friends 280 Ackley back in the 90s. It was a solid killer.
