Every time a new virus pops up we are going to have to rely on an “untested” vaccine. I for one am grateful this is not something like Ebola that spreads like covid.

Suddenly half the population gives a crap about what they put in the body…..

Pretty crazy isn’t it? The side that thinks the government shouldn’t be able to prevent pregnant women from killing their children is the same side that thinks the government should force people into an experimental treatment.

What a time to be alive.

Probably when the virus stops mutating in a way that diminishes the effectiveness of the prior vaccination regiment.
That is not likely with an RNA virus. It has been a problem with an previous attempts at developing vaccines against corona viruses.

General virus behavior says you won't get an ebola that spreads like COVID-19. Viruses are smart, they don't want to kill off all their hosts. That happens they die off as well.

The higher the mortality, the lower the transmissibility. Also with a highly communicable virus, mutations tend to be more easily transmitted but less virulent. Again, a virus gains nothing long term killing off all it's hosts.

I think the line of thought is "unknown long term side effects of a new vaccine compared to unknown long term side effects of a virus."

One can only hope they get to worry about the long term side effects of having the virus. You may be the one that dies within days of contracting it. Russian Roulette boys and girls….step right up & pull that trigger. Obviously the death rate isn’t super high in the grand scheme of things but a lot of the people passing this go around are very young. Yes, most are all obese and have some comorbidities but I personally know of healthy men in their 30s with zero health issues that have died.

The main difference I have seen this go around in my hospital from the last initial outbreak is that the initial outbreak typically struck the elderly, immuno-compromised, obese and people with multiple comorbidities. No one was vaccinated then. This go around, 97% of the people admitted in our hospital are unvaccinated. As of today that’s 110 people needing acute hospital care. We have a 230 bed hospital. So 48% occupancy because of people “scared/unwilling” to get the vaccine. Is that just random dumb luck or does the vaccine actually decrease virulency/symptoms……not necessarily transmission? Sure, there are vaccinated people that have contracted COVID again, however only 3% of our current numbers fall into this category that have needed hospitalization. Everyone else who has been vaccinated and contracted COVID again are able to recover at home. Why, because the vaccine decreases the virulency/symptoms.

Both my wife and oldest son had COVID before the vaccine. And both have contracted it after having received the vaccine. Both episodes were very mild. I have never contracted it amazingly and I take care of COVID patients directly on a weekly basis. I like my odds being vaccinated.

I guess my point is, when you are on my operating table having been intubated for days, and are now needing emergent surgery to open up your arteries because they have clotted off from your belly button to your toes, your husband just recently passed days prior and your young kids are at home without parents, I hope you believe in miracles. Rest assured I and the rest of my team will do everting in the world to save your life, but we cannot play God and we do not always prevail. I hope you don’t blame medicine for offering a current solution that you refused, that undoubtedly would have prevented your poor outcome. And at the very worse, you might not have to worry about it at all because it will have taken your life without you even knowing it. Sometimes it has to hit home before you are believer. Just ask my 11 year old daughters friend whose 40 something yo father just passed away yesterday, simply because he was against the vaccine.

Your body your choice. I am all for that. I don’t like mandates. Whatever you choose, be at peace with your decision. I recommend the vaccine but I don’t have any ill will toward anyone that thinks otherwise. Unfortunately science, politics, social media, overnight YouTube medical experts…..they all have created a huge mess of this all. I feel for those that have to navigate the muddied waters to find truth and answers.

Exactly. I was intimating we shouldn’t question the moving of the goal posts.

Did you see me say anything about forcing anyone to do anything? You do you man. My personal perspective is from the dealing w sick people on the hospital side and talking to friends who also spend their lives in the hospital. I don’t watch the news, I don’t follow a “party line”. Honestly I’ve been pretty sheltered from dealing w the virus until taking a new job. Now I see people right before they get shipped to bigger facilities and it has ramped up dramatically in my small corner of the world just in the last week.

If this gene therapy is safe, can someone explain to me why the VAERS database has 13,000 reported deaths from this jab as well as tens of thousands of reported adverse reactions(blood clots, palsy, harm to reproductive organs, myocarditis, etc)?

If this gene therapy is effective, why do the places with the highest vaccination rates currently have the highest rates of infection (Israel, Hawaii, Iceland, Gibraltar)?

Not claiming to be a medical expert but something isn’t right with this...surprises me a lot that a bunch of guys who are very familiar with herd management and culling practices aren’t seeing this for what it is. We’re a cwd deer to some of these wealthy influential elites who constantly harp on overpopulation and climate change as the biggest threat to life on earth. Buckle up, this winter is going to be hell on earth

My youngest just tested positive and I have plans to leave for Colorado on the 2nd.
Kinda hoping I’m still feeling fine, and the worrying is in my head. The wife had it in February and I felt fine. I felt the same as I feel now, like I have bad allergies.

IMO...The biggest myth being perpetuated right now is that the vaccine (and masks) prevents infection and transmission.

This whole "pandemic of the unvaccinated" propaganda from the left is irresponsible and factually untrue.
Like others here, I work for a health system as well. I can tell you that the hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths are in the Unvaccinated. Most health systems are tracking this now and the proof is right in front of us.

No not from you. Mine wasn’t a personal post.

I do think there is some nuance you can appreciate tho; just because someone eats McDonald’s doesn’t mean they should logically acquiesce to being bullied into pumping themselves full of experimental drugs.

Do you know anywhere that posts this data online? I am trying to find numbers from the US, I found Israel and UK data, but nothing in my area. Several news stories have posted stats, but no corresponding citations.

This is a great website, assuming data provided to them are legit. Looks like the death rate in US now sits at around 3 per million. The peak last January was 10 per million.

I don't have the shot and just got the delta, probably 6-9 days ago. Been easy sledding so far but who knows, maybe I'm a fool that'll suffer? Close to 3M people die each year in the USA, pandemic or not.

I have survived both flavors of the virus and yet they still want to force the vaccine on me.
Like I've said all along, something aint right.
Why is it whenever the Govt tells me its for my own good,,,, it actually isnt?
Most recent example: Afghanistan withdrawal.
This administration makes very poor decisions, yet they want to make MY decisions FOR ME?

So when do we quit moving the efficacy goalpost? A month ago two doses and all was good. Now three doses and all is good. In my another 8 mos will it still be a matter of perspective when 4 doses and all is good?
Everything about Covid is and has been a moving goal post. That just means that they're still grasping at straws and making it up as they go. They still have no clue what's going to happen, and there is absolutely NO ONE on the planet that can make the statement that "the vaccine is perfectly safe". 10 years from now might show that it's "relatively safe", but at this point no one knows for sure.

Suddenly half the population gives a crap about what they put in the body…..
It's not necessarily "what" we put in our body.........it's "being mandated" to put something in our body, or this incessant push and insistence by the government, the media, celebrities, and every other boob around that's the problem. If it was something good that makes sense, they wouldn't have to push it. Leave us alone......if we die, we die. That's our choice.

I think it's ridiculous though that people can scream "pro choice" or "my body, my choice" when it comes to killing another human being. But when it's for a vaccine......that all goes out the window. Why? Well, first because of their hypocrisy, and second because it's a totally different AGENDA, and everything has to meet THEIR agenda. We don't play that game. It's either logical and makes sense, or it doesn't. And NOTHING about the way they've handled Covid has made any sense at all. And you think that logical, reasonable, thinking folks are going to just jump on board with all that? Good luck.

Confirmed cases will always be lower if you can't test for it.
Or lower if you DON'T test for it. How many people that have gotten the vaccine are getting tested for it these days........even if they do get sick?

On a different note I found it interesting that the Las Vegas Raiders were requiring a vaccine to enter the stadium for home games this season. HOWEVER.......they were also offering vaccines at the entrance to those that hadn't gotten one, and then they could go in. Uhhhhh.......the vaccines supposedly aren't effective for at least 14 days after getting them (14 days after the second one for Pfizer and Moderna). But they're going to just let those folks into their stadium.......just because they go the shot a minute earlier? It's pretty obvious from that, that this has nothing to do with preventing the transmission of the virus. If it did, they would be denied entrance until 14 days after their second shot.
