That's a good question worthy of attention, but a follow up question could be, who is going to fund that study, and who will even publish it thereafter? The govt, govt funded universities or hospitals full of stifling group think, the drug companies themselves?

Another question to be answered is how many vaccine side effects are required before it becomes a net loss to the individual...like for instance in younger people?
I was trying to decipher the recent data out of Israel last week, and although it looks like a lower percentage of people over 60 who are seriously ill in the hospital have received at least 2 vaccinations compared to unvaccinated people, the difference for people under 60 appears to be negligible.
Not sure you will be able to answer many side effect questions at all since they are vaccinating the controls before the study ends.

Amazing how the definition of "science" and the expected standards have changed in a year and a half.

Political? No. That is why you have a president announcing a date for the third booster prior to the scientific community even looking at and discussing the data. Follow the "science" yet we announce this prior to ANY scientific recommendation by the experts we are supposed to follow. You even have the almighty John's Hopkins questioning this one.

IMO...The biggest myth being perpetuated right now is that the vaccine (and masks) prevents infection and transmission.

This whole "pandemic of the unvaccinated" propaganda from the left is irresponsible and factually untrue.
Can you better explain your position about "pandemic of the unvaccinated" please? I have seen many assertions in the media that most new serious illnesses and deaths are in unvaccinated people (and they represent less than half of the US population). Is that not true based on your research?

And their in lies the root of your problem. Stop watching ths news, do your own research.

Even if that were true and not the media pushing the narrative to demonize the unvax'd...does that say anywhere that COVID isn't spreading through vax'd and masked also? No it does not. It simply says the more serious cases are in the un-vax'd, which is also debatable.

So with that in mind, that anyone can transmit the virus, regardless of vax status, then why is it an employers or agencies decision who is mandated to be vax'd? Shouldn't an individual be able to assess his own risk and make an informed decision?

It goes back to the false narrative that the Vax will stop the spread, it simply has not and will not.

I have been and that is why I asked you. And we are 100% aligned that no one should be forced to get the vaccine.

I'm not the expert, nor claim to be. Just presenting my opinions. I'd always urge everyone to read what they can find and draw their own conclusions.

IMO, natural immunity is a scientifically proven, time tested way to end a pandemic. The vulnerable are vaccinated if they chose to be. Time to get on with our lives and stop living in fear.

I put a breathing tube in an otherwise healthy 20 something person (no vaccine) over the weekend, their SO was in the ICU across the hall. Two days before that, same scenario with an otherwise healthy 50s couple. Half of our little hospital is full with Covid pts. My old (700 bed) hospital can't even do heart surgery because they need the anesthesia machines as ventilators. 90% of those hospitalized are non vaccinated at that hospital.

By all means make your own choice and I hope you don't get to meet me while I'm at work. Most people do just fine with it. I don't think it'll be long before insurance quits covering Covid hospitalizations if you aren't vaccinated. Personal choice should come with personal responsibility.

How long before hospitals/insurance stop covering folks who eat fast food, refuse to exercise and are admitted with heart disease? Personal choice should come with personal responsibility, according to you.

Sure, my view is skewed. I see the people who don’t. Sad when you do see it. I’m not particularly worried about getting it w the vaccine (or before for that matter), much lower chance of having an issue now.
I figure I have put way worse things in my body than a vaccine, ups out weigh the downs for me.

They are already do it for smoking, you can be damn sure they are trying to figure it out how to do for the rest. I think it’s fair for a person who makes an effort to be healthy to pay less for health insurance. I bet you would agree.

I don't post much on threads about this , but u thought they found that ventilators weren't the best treatment. Any input about treating by placing patients on their stomachs instead.
Just looking for info from the front line folks
Thanks for what you do

So what happens in the long run if they find out the Vaccine causes increased risk of infection from variants and worsening symptoms or that the Vaccinated are a main driver of mutations? Do they then stop covering them on insurance or restrict those people?

I think no matter the scenario, if someone can waive responsibility, they will.

Prone and high flow O2 until you turn the corner or wear out from exertion.

I’m not a virologist. That said have a hard time believing that an unchecked virus is less likely than one lacking hosts to prosper in to mutate. The human body and viruses will always be at war to see which evolves faster. We have the distinct advantage of science giving us a leg up the last 100 years or so. I have no doubt viruses will eventually win again. To me Covid has been a test of how we will respond to a truly devastating virus, this is a test run and we have failed.

Hard for me to buy into this line of thought in general. Why bother vaccinating for anything? Is that the line of thought?

Not going to happen. Mandated personal responsibility is selective.

Where do you do your research?

The game has changed and the delta variant is causing break-through infections among the vaccinated, but what I have seen still suggests that our hospitals are being disproportionately impacted by the unvaccinated. THAT is the issue, not so much catching or transmitting the disease.

Despite the breakthrough infections, it seems that most healthcare professionals suggest that the vaccinated are likely to be contagious for a shorter period of time making them less likely to spread the disease than the unvaccinated.
