We have friends in Australia and its flat out criminal how those people are being treated.
It's total BS alright! Sydney has been locked down for 4-6 weeks, I can't remember how long. On Friday they announced the entire state of NSW will be in lock down. Yes you can be living in outback NSW and you are locked down too. Western Australia has announced that anyone entering must provide 'vaccination papers'.
other parts of the country go in lockdown at the occurrence of a few cases.

Sydney has been having up to 300-400 cases per day. The rhetoric suggests that lock down will last until they have 80% of people vaccinated. The vaccination program has been going on since the start of this year and 25% of the population is vaccinated and there is only 25 million of us!
I'm not sure what they'll do or expect when they get to 80% vaccinated but still have 1000's of cases per day just like the UK is experiencing now.
I said to my wife a year ago when we had virtually no cases and our borders were closed that we are just prolonging the inevitable. What's happened in Europe and USA will happen here except we'll be 18 months later with a ruined economy before we get there. Australia and New Zealand have been turtles hiding in their shells, safe but can never poke their heads out into the world. Eventually you need to come out of your shell.
Our rights will never be the same here. They are all ready talking different rules for vax vs non vax etc. being vaxxed will be optional but doing anything that resembles being a human will require vax.
If you have to coerce the population into getting vaxed is the disease really that bad? If it was ebola or something with high mortality rates then there would be no vaccine hesitancy like we are seeing here in Australia.

When our vaccine program started the uptake rate was pleasing to the Govt. I said to my wife that those are just the people who want it. When they are done watch the rate plummet. Supply has been an issue here as well as the medical advice around it. one day they say AstraZeneca is not for your age group the next day they say yes it is for your age group. They say if you don't want AZ then wait for Pfizer. "Oh, we're having trouble getting Pfizer supplies you should actually get AZ"

The meme of Silence of the lambs' Buffalo Bill looking down the well saying, "It puts the needle in its arm or it gets the lockdown again" sums up what's happening here.

So I finally got the Rona. While traveling for work no less and am now stuck in a hotel room to quarantine for the next ten days before I can travel home.

Anyways, I thought my allergies were acting up yesterday so I took some antihistamine and it cleared up my headache, cough and runny nose after a few hours so I figured I was good. Due to flying and where I am, my wife told me I should get tested just to be sure before I fly home so I figured why not, I’ll head over to the nearest clinic and knock one out. About an hour later a woman in damn near a full hazmat suit walks into my room and tells me I’m positive for Covid.

So for you guys that have had this, what was your experience with it? Mild, bad, horrible? Luckily everything seems pretty mild for me.

Seems for the most part yalls cases have been mild. Glad for that. My mom and grandma had it and it wasn't real bad.

My bowshop manager had a severe case and was on the vent two seperate times. In the hospital for around a month.

I will take a look.

Our standard protocol is Azithromycin, Dexamethasone, Enoxaparin, O2 therapy as needed and Remdesivir. Obviously it only increases from there, that's in a fairly healthy mildly symptomatic patient.
Is CRP being considered when deciding whether to give dexamethasone?

Directly from big pharma Merck. If they could make millions off of Ivermectin I'm sure they would. However, their statement is as follows:

Company scientists continue to carefully examine the findings of all available and emerging studies of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 for evidence of efficacy and safety. It is important to note that, to-date, our analysis has identified:

  • No scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies;
  • No meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and;
  • A concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies.
We do not believe that the data available support the safety and efficacy of ivermectin beyond the doses and populations indicated in the regulatory agency-approved prescribing information.

Mine wasn’t too bad, basically a bad case of allergies. The worst part was the loss of and taste for a bit. But I know good friends who died from it and got very sick, super weird how differently it affects people.

I'm a nurse, I don't order medications.

Whether CRP is considered and to what extent would be on a case by case basis and per individual physician.

Honestly? If you are on my floor for Covid you have inflammation and should be on steroids. That would be my first thought.

I'm not saying covid isn't real and hasn't killed people but all the fear and control surrounding it reminds me of the Nathan Zohner story... The 14 year old kid that convinced 43 of 50 9th graders to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide. "The compound can corrode and rust metal and cause severe burns. If you consume it, it can cause bloating and excessive urination and sweating. Thousands of people in the U.S. die from its accidental ingestion every year. If you are dependent on it, going through withdrawal can kill you. It’s found in significant quantities in acid rain, tumors, and more".

Dihydrogen Monoxide is water. He used facts to lead a scientifically ignorant public to a false conclusion.

It would be nice to hear something, anything about how to live a healthy life. But that's not going to happen... Just keep on lovin it at McDonalds while smoking a pack in a half a day and getting hammered off your fav spirit at night. Oh, and do as I say not as I do.
The try this pill or shot for everything mentality is stale.

I just did a home test this morning and it said to wait 15 minutes for results. That pink line lit up immediately for a positive test. Came home yesterday with body aches and a sore throat. Had some chills through the night and was sweating. Never had a fever in the 10 times I took my temp before bed. Guessing I had a minor fever and broke it. Never had an indication of a fever today. I still eat when and what I want and don’t get sick. I seem to have mild symptoms at this point, knock on wood.
Where did you get the home test?

Merck is so conflicted in this, it is not even funny.

Had it in Feb (tested positive x2) but was completely asymptomatic. Three buddies have had it now, and two were vaccinated (not sure which vax). All three had a rought time with it, headaches, extreme fatigue, coughing.

At Christmas my 2 year old granddaughter gave 8/10 family members Covid. The other grandma had Covid and didn’t want to miss her visitation. So our granddaughter brings it to our family Christmas gathering. Only two not to get Covid was my daughter(mother of the granddaughter) and my 83 year old dad.
All else got it.
My wife and I left for our camp in the swamps of Louisiana for rifle deer season. I got puny on the drive down and had to let my wife drive us there. Once there I had chills and felt run down. Still went hunting. For two nights I shook so bad from chills and body aches. Then the next several days I was sluggish. My wife started getting symptoms on the way home. She was sluggish for a week on return.
My cousins in deer camp who slept in the same camp as my wife and I never got anything and still haven’t.
My brother his wife and daughter got it. My brother was sluggish for several days, his teenage daughter was sickly for a couple days. My brothers wife is still having compilations.
My oldest daughter and her boyfriend got it and was sickly for a good week or so.
My daughter s boyfriend was sick for a good week.
Out of the 10 at the Christmas gathering my dad recently got the Covid shot. My SIL got the shot as did my daughter and boyfriend.
None of the rest of us have.
My dad is tougher than boot leather. He didn’t get Covid because he still washes his hands with gasoline after working on his old cars. He permanently smells like gas.

Right, but do you do fecal floats?

We lost all effectiveness with it 20 years ago.

Parasites build up resistance.
Only in goats and sheep. Hasn't been an issue in other animals other than one specific parasite in cattle.

Had it a couple months ago. Few bad days. 103.5 fever at the peak. The night chills and sweats were the worst part to me. No medication other than vitamins and ibuprofen. Felt better by day 6 or 7. I'm not vaccinated. Nobody else in my family showed symptoms. No clue if anyone else got it. My BIL just got out from a coworker. He just feels tired and a little achy so far. Today is day 3 for him.

Well roundworms in cattle have shown a large amount of resistance, and that's more than one parasite.

Swine and horses are also at the point that many places are only showing a 50% drop in nematode egg count through fecal float.

Just saying that what was once a miracle drug has been loosing it's market share. Lots of people still use it blindly tho.

Penicillin is starting to show a similar pattern. For many parasites aren't a major concern, they aren't lethal in most cases except sheep and goats. Once we get super bacteria from penicillin resistance, well things will get interesting.

My youngest daughter tested positive the weekend after Thanksgiving. I say tested positive because without the positive test, she wouldn't have known. It was a required test to resume for her sports team. The whole family rode in the pickup with her prior to her test results and somehow missed catching it. The wife tested negative over Christmas, but a few days after she was tested ,she had a low grade fever and lost any sense of smell or taste for about 2 weeks. The oldest daughter and my SIL dragged it over to the house again in July. He was achy and tired, she was fine with no symptoms. No one else in my house developed anything from that exposure. Out of 5 of us, 3 caught it. Myself and middle daughter have missed it.

A ton of these recent young-folk positives are incidental findings. I forget where I saw the data but among young kids it was something like 80% went to the doctor/hospital for something OTHER than symptoms related to covid. It was found just as a matter of course on admittance.
