White Mountain Apache- be aware

These arent 385's and arent 5x5 8 year olds either. How were they allowed to shoot them?
Management Elk Hunt Costs
A Management Bull Elk hunt is specifically designed for mature bulls that do not meet the full "Trophy" criteria
  • Package Cost: Approximately $7,500.00.
  • Availability: These tags are typically only available to clients who have already booked a Trophy Elk hunt package.
Other than that no F’ing clue

I'm guessing they were in Malay Gap or one of the other non trophy areas.

Homer runs the trophy areas, the other guides run the surrounding areas.

We had 8 (trophy) hunters in Camp...we were in "trophy" areas...but there were no Trophy elk as they do not allow anything under 385 to be taken on those hunts....yes there are lots of elk there...but large majority we saw were younger bulls and not what is advertised

Sorry the Op’s hunt was so terrible, my friends Bobby & Kirt had a totally different experience, and harvested two decent bulls ( though not monsters)
I guess it’s just a matter of perspective for each individual hunter
As they imo had a good hunt , I guess attitude makes a difference View attachment 1058961View attachment 1058962View attachment 1058963
Those are management/cull bulls ...same hunt I was on...but not a single hunter saw one and not a single hunter in camp harvested or had a shot at any bull....I think they have over killed their land and several hunters that were in camp and have hunted there for years said the same.

Was this the same guy who had issues with a British Columbia mountain goat and a New Zealand tahr?

He has at least two undeleted threads about trouble with New Mexico outfitters...

Seems like a theme to me.

Not me I have never been to BC for Goats.....as for the other reviews...do you not think hunters should report on bad outfitter experiences to help other hunters who are considering using them? Out of the 20 plus outfitters I have been out with...I write a couple bad reviews and you think that is wrong?

My mistake on that trip report. They read very similarly.

No, I don't think it's wrong to report bad experiences. How would I know that you've been on 20+ guided hunts?

There is a theme where certain individuals consistently have bad experiences.

Your story is weird though. Left on the mountain, no food, no communication device, apparently no basic fire start kit, no extra clothing? Sounds like basic stuff that someone with any experience would carry some, most, or all of the above.

Better luck next time.
