CO Drop Camp Question Rates for Non-Tag Holders?

For that in and out service, we regularly did 30-35 miles a day in the saddle. Much more than that is pushing in October rifle seasons. Even then we were already riding in the dark.

LuckyR - it’s all over the map. I’ve been digging into this specifically for a buddy who wanted to tag along with us and found that a lot of CO outfits actually do offer an 'observer' or non-hunter rate (usually ~50% off). Of course many of the guys doing drop camps charge full freight because they are limited by 'User Days' on their Forest Service permits, a body in camp costs them the same permit slot whether they're carrying a tag or not.

I actually got fed up with how hard it was to find these specific policy/price details, so I've been building a database with CO outfitter info. I've got deep-dive info on about 110 of them so far. Happy to look a few up for you or share what I've found if you want to save some phone calls. Shoot me a PM.

Many of outfits charge full price whether you're hunting or not, but some do have a heavy discounts for non-hunters. A couple drop camp examples in Colorado: Peak to Creek Outfitters is $3,400 for hunters and $1,500 for guests, Fish Creek Outfitters is $2,800 or $1,400. I haven't spoken to them personally, but came across the info on outfitterintel.com
