Waving a white flag is definitely not illegal in Idaho. Using an antelope decoy made by (insert your favorite decoy maker here) is the same thing- also not illegal.

With that said, I've used the decoy a few times with mixed reviews. I've used it in the pre-rut and the actual rut with similar results... let's just say I'm not hunting an area with so many antelope that I'm looking to use the tactic on any sort of regular basis. I lean more towards complete stealth these days, rather than pretending to be an antelope. If I get desperate, all bets are off!

Never used the white flag trick but my buddy showed me this one.

Turn your rifle upside down with the bipod up.

This brought in a buck from over a 1/2 mile away.

That’s neat. Never seen that. I have seen some guys turn their bow sideways and crouch walk towards them. Seems to work fairly well.
