Which Western Precision Sight?

I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the options for Williams sights…

Being a newbie which peep site should I get to pair with the front globe. The micro adjust or the standard peep?

Planning to put on a CVA MR-X for Colorado as its maiden voyage.

I have the standard peep on a Knight and it is a pita to adjust when sighting in. I recently bought an Optima V3 and installed the micro-adjust. If you install the micro-adj set the elevation and windage to mid-range. Laser bore-sight at 50 yards and it should be close. That was with a 1/4” cheek riser. I suggest buying the .019 green or red fiber optic post for the globe. At 50 yards each click on the micro-adjust was around 1/5 MOA. A Gehmann Iris PH510 will fit the mirco-adjust aperture threads if you are so inclined.

I kind of figured the micro would be handy. I curse not having micro when I adjust my bow.

That aperture looks interesting. Is that mainly for a more precise aim/alignment with front sight or better light control?

Sight alignment. An Iris gives light control but I don’t think I want or need to use it with my current prescription. Blade sights tend to “hide” part of an animal at MZ ranges. The small fiber optic “dot” at the top of the post in the globe contrasts well during sunrise and sunset low light conditions. I like the target knobs for quick adjustments on the micro-adjust version to get sighted in. It is the best solution for me but I am new to MZ like you are.

I just bought and installed this the other day. Been waiting for the rain to stop so I can go shoot it. Front sight screw on the original front sight was stripped I had to cut the sight off. Ordered the .19 green dot insert that I put in. Installation was easy, hopefully all goes well when I go out

I've got no idea what your marksman capabilities are, but would you say you're much more accurate at 300 or 1000 on any given day?

I installed and used this sight on a MZ last year. It’s very precise, but does not allow enough light in low light shooting. In fact, that’s a problem with all peep sights I’ve used. I’m considering going back to a notch and blade style sight as you get much better low light performance.

The problem with both is that some models of MZs won’t fit either one because the scope base holes are all different dimensions even between models of the same brand. Neither one will fit my Knight Disc Extreme. Williams won’t fit the Accura LRX or MRX. Those are all very popular MZs.

I'm 99% sure I have the Williams rear site on my Accura MRX.

And yet that statement in inherently not correct in an absolute because I litterally posted a photo of the williams ace in a hole on a accura mrx.

Maybe they changed them or the accura changed so they no longer are compatible? Dunno. All I know is a couple years ago they were compatible and I posted an example above.

ALSO I posted the Eabco DOES work with the Williams front globe (did they change those too?).

Have you personally paired these items up as you're intent on arguing about them? I will gladly caveat my statements going forward if something changed in the manufacturer of things and you or someone else can personally verify they don't work together anymore.

I put this same sight on my TC Encore and had to shim the rear sight as i ran out of adjustment w/o a shim. My screw barely caught threads and the peep was still very high up the ramp but i was on target.

This doesn’t have anything to do with me or what I post. Other than I was placed at “iron sight” ground zero when my Knight started eating primers when I was sighting in for my elk hunt. I literally had an Optima V3 overnighted so I could leave on my hunt. BUT when the Optima arrived, the factory had installed the wrong front post on the gun therefore rendering the sights useless. Not one to give up in a dire situation; I overnighted Williams Western Precision micro-adjust sights with target knobs. The Optima sight install took about 15 minutes. Bore-sighted at 50 yards and the sight adjustment was in the mid-range:

Do you personally have experience with the EABCO on a CVA to confirm something changed? Because it did work fine before. You said you went with the williams adjsutable sight (nice sight by the way, not bagging on it) but nothing about the eabco.

The eabco sight is shorter so it close to the top of the ramp but to hit the same height but both the Williams (on a accura mrx) and eabco (on a optima v2) as of a couple years ago both worked with the Williams front globe.

I look at the specs these days before I purchase anything. I can’t use scopes or any electronic optics in the states I like to hunt although I did look at the option. I won’t remove a scope or change optics once I am sighted in though.

Reply from: EABCO (8/29/2025): Sounds like your stock is set up to position your eye higher for a riflescope. So I recommend you either use a scope sight or modify the stock to position your eye lower for iron sights.

Purchased the peep rib for a Cva accura with .485" Height sight and do not have enough elevation to sight in, 6 inches low at 50yards, any help would be greatly appreciated.

PeepRib Aperture Sight for CVA Accura, Kodiak, Optima and Wolf Muzzle Loaders​

Fine tune your accuracy by combining a precision aperture sight with a Picatinny style scope mounting base. This Peeprib works with both old and new hole patterns. You can position a riflescope on and off your gun without upsetting your aperture sight! It's great for using a scope to fine tune your handload accuracy and you can just remove the scope when hunting regulations don't allow it. The PeepRib Aperture Sight itself is precision adjustable for windage and elevation and comes standard with a special High Definition Aperture for the clearest possible sight picture.

An aperture sight (aka peep sight), mounted as close to your eye as possible, removes a huge amount of aiming error by simply increasing the sight radius (the distance between front and rear sights). These are the basis of saying the EABCO peep rib doesn't work with the williams western precision front globe on a CVA?
1) The person was talking about their stock having too high of a cheek riser.
2) Said it they haven't tried it with the williams front globe.
3) A generic sight not specifically the williams western precision front globe, they reference a measurement but is that from centerline of bore or height over the top of the barrel? It isn't clear to have a useful take away to determine the peep rib doesn't work with the williams western precision front globe.

None of them say explicitly the front globe doesn't work with the peep rib. I am explicilty confirming that as of a couple years ago production the peep rib on an optima V2 works with the williams western precision front globe. (Also that the williams rail mounted on a accura mrx as of a couple years ago too).

Do you have any personal experience or accurate confirmation otherwise that something changed about the eabco peeprib of the williams western precision front globe and they no longer work together?



Again the sight you put on is a nice one and is certainly a good option too.
