Which Tent?

I'm looking for a big family type tent that can be used for a base camp and double as a family tent. 6-8 person I'm thinking. I don't want to spend a fortune on this as it mostly would be a family tent and not see severe use, but I'd like for it to be capable to setup for use on a western hunt if needed. Something that will keep you comfortable and dry without breaking the bank.

Love my Kodiak tent - great for family of five or base camp in western hunt. You could probably get one for $500.

Check out REIs house brand tents, they are nicer than most others in their price range from my experience. I have their Half Dome 2P+ and it's pretty sweet. Held up to some pretty strong winds too

REI kingdom 8 with garage. It’s awesome. You can get it for 30% off around the holidays. Only downside is that it isn’t very tolerant of strong winds.

+1 REI kingdom 8. You can usually grab them at the rei garage sale for pretty cheap, under $300.
