A pickup is what I drive, a truck is a semi. Not sure what a “rig” is outside of fishing....

I am from the south a truck is truck, a jeep is a jeep, and a car is a car. We run run different rigs when fishing for reds and sea trout. We kill critters and eat em. Hell we dont even "harvest" crops we pick em. We like our hat bills curved just like our women. I am sure as hell not going to call wife the old lady..she is referred to as the better half.

Well said. You must be from South Carolina.

I always though the term came from 'big rigs', 18 wheelers...too lazy to read all the comments, someone probably already mentioned that.

Truck is what you get all done up in before you go out. you Get all trucked up or go put on your finest truck for the evening.

Rig is what you do to something that’s a little broken.

Carry is what you do instead of bring or take something somewhere.

Chevrolet is what you call an automobile unless it’s a Jeep.

Any other conveyance like an atv etc is simply a machine.

This is what I learned growing up.

“Where you goin all trucked up like that”

dad i need to borrow the Chevy so I can carry brandi to the lookout

“yeah right. Use your jeep”

I can’t the exhaust on the Jeep is just sort of rigged onnthere right now. That’s why I took the machine around to get groceries for my trip this weekend. if you didn’t notice

If it's got a welding machine and tool boxes on it, it's a rig.

If it's just a pickup truck, well then it's just a pickup truck.

You also loose one man point for each stupid sticker you plaster on the back window letting the whole world know "hard core" you are or how "antler addicted" you are.
Give it five years and the internet personalities will be wearing jerseys with sponsorship patches plastered all over them while hunting.

Reading your post, I felt you were doing great until you used "loose" instead of "lose."
Sorry, I just had to mention it.

Auto correct is a pain sometimes. Glad to see the Rokslide grammar patrol is doing its job though.

I've noticed it a lot lately. Especially with western hunting shows/podcasts/etc that everyone refers to their truck as a "rig." Is that the commonly used term now? Or is it a regional term? Or something else?

I'm from Wisconsin, and everyone here still calls it a pickup or a truck. The only time someone uses "rig" is if they are referring to a semi tractor trailer.

If you know the answer, great. Otherwise feel free to chime in with what you call your vehicle.
When we started "running" packs, tents, etc

Any reference to grammar or spelling patrol results in a loose man point. As does any reference to teachers pets snowflakes and triggers that aren’t electrical or mechanical in nature and which provide for the activation of a device. These are things that women argue about. Which- now that it’s mentioned- arguing will also result in a loose man pint. Men -at least those with any point retention ability say there piece and get on with the business.

Once a man point is loose in the forum it becomes up for grabs to whoever is running the coolest “kit” the hardest as evidenced by the sweetest selfies
