How's the action on that? I handled one in the store the other day and the lathe work left a lot to be desired. Wondering if they had a bad one.

24” 300 WSM. I’m not sure if I want it much lighter. Shoots 180s at 3050. Please excuse the messy bench. Been busy

16.5” Model 7 in .308 win. Shoots 165 game changers at 2700.

12” 6.5 Grendel. Haven’t checked velocity but whitetail don’t like it whatever it is. Shooting 123 sst. Great in a box blind!

18” Remington 700 5R milspec in 308. Shoots 165 game changers at 2650. I’ve taken most of my game in the last 5 years almost exclusively with this rifle. It’s my go to rifle if I’m just walking to a stand or box blind not far away. It doesn’t move and you can literally see the impact. Have taken a couple of bucks at 325 but would have no problem going much further with this rifle if presented with an opportunity. It is so nice when you can have so much confidence in a set up. About as much weight as I want to carry in the field though.

How is the recoil on this light of a rifle? I admire that round but for target shooting it really tires me out.

Holy smokes I am boring, I bought a Remington 788 .308 win $400 w scope on 9-24-21. , pillar bed , McMillan stock needs a timeny trigger
shoots like a charm (3 shot group .67 inch) , 7.5 lbs

How is the recoil on this light of a rifle? I admire that round but for target shooting it really tires me out.

Considering I am adapted to shooting my .338 win mag, with the brake on this thing it’s really nice to shoot. I love it. If I wanted to I imagine I could shoot a box or two before needing a break.

I picked up a Proof Elevation over the weekend and plan on putting a Swaro Z5 on it. I believe I have seen lightweight Talley ring/bases on these but could not find them listed on their site. Anyone know if a 700 ring/base fits or something else?
