Savage ultralight in 6.5PRC with a strike eagle 4-24X50. Comes in at 8.5 pounds. Plan to go to a lighter scope in the future.

Husqvarna 1640 Featherweight .30-06 with Zeiss Terra 2-7 = 7.18 lbs
Weatherby Mark V Ultralightweight .300 WBY with Swaro Z3 4-12 = 7.54 lbs
Remington 700 .270 Win in a B&C stock with Leupold VX3 = 7.88 lbs

Any rifle after a few days of hiking = more than I would like it to.
Definitely considering something a bit lighter for the extended trips.

Been looking at ways to lighten my load. My current rifle is a rem 700 sendero in 300wm, weighing in at about 12lbs unloaded. Tossing around the idea of a new rifle, mainly only considering a tikka or savage in their respective lightweight models. But if there are other options under $1k I’m all ears.
Shooting this same rifle... Love it, but it's a tank, coming in at 11.45 lbs loaded with a bipod and sling Going through the options to lighten it up, as the barrel is starting to get a little iffy... The option I want to go, but may take awhile is to swap the barrel for a shorter carbon barrel to allow for a suppressor. Next would be fluting the bolt, replacing the bipod with a carbon model or ditching it altogether, and putting on a magnesium chassis stock. Anyone have any thoughts on cutting weight with this platform? Action is stainless, and want to keep this rifle weatherproof, so no blued barrels.

My mountain ascent 300 win mag is sitting about 8lb 2oz at the moment with a trijicon tenmile HX 3-18x50 on it. It actually feels really nice and while it’s not my lightest rifle, it seems that it’s a good weight for an in raked 300 mag.

My heaviest rifle, a vintage Whitworth in .375 Holland & Holland weighs right at about 12 lbs. My lightest rifle is an antiquated Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 in .270 Winchester and it weighs a tad over 9 lbs. My other rifles fall into the 10 lbs category, or thereabouts.
