What's the best Rokstok alternative?

I'm looking for an alternative with Rokstok-like ergos, especially the short trigger reach, that can fill the gap while I'm waiting for my Rokstok for my Tikka.

The Peak 44 Bastion looks very interesting.

McMillan A10 has a short trigger reach.

Stocky’s VGII with some moldable air cure foam on the grip. Use a release agent to mold and then a temporary tape or adhesive if you want to resell the stock.

I don't know if it's the best, but I went with the Bastion this summer. Trigger reach works perfect for me (the tape measurement I believe is very close to the Rokstok measurement). And it's much more comfortable for me, especially shooting prone. If you have a Weatherby dealer close to you, some of their newer rifles have the Peak44 stocks (307 alpine, talon). That way you can handle them and see if you like them.

I've had a VG2 and didn't love it. I'd rather avoid having to mold the grip.

I can't find the A10 on their site anymore and the one that looks good, the Mountain Tracker LR, doesn't come in a Tikka inlet.

That's a great idea on testing with an in stock Weatherby.

Sorry, looks like they modified it and call it the U-10 now.

It is made for smaller handed people, but fits my big hand better.

I would really like to see that new mcmillan mountain tracker LR next to a rokstok. I don't believe they make it in a tikka inlet yet but remember someone saying they planned to soon. It sure looks awful similar as far as ergos go.

I’m liking the KRG Echo. Pretty easy to mod spacers and raise butt pad above bore.

I've got a Proof barrel on it. I guess I could bore out the channel
Ah gotcha. I'd probably just sand it out if it was me.

That said, doesn't help trigger reach but I got a Mcmillan game scout standard fill that has carbon barrel inlet on it I need to offload if its of any interest I can take photos and weigh it.

Have you asked McMillan if they'd do a Tikka inlet?

Mtn Tracker LR is the only stock thats similar to Rokstok geometry. The McMillan with exposed carbon shell is lighter than a rokstok, has integral arca, custom LOP options. This all comes at a 500$ premium over the rokstok. I'd gladly pay 700$ for an integral arca(at balance point, flush or half flush) rokstok with LOP options. Gotta keep that weight 32oz or less tho.

That makes the most sense. I don’t know about some of the others, but you’re probably not getting a McMillan much faster than a rokstock. Just hack up a cheap factory stock. Doesn’t have to be pretty to shoot well.

My smith builds 80% off McMillan. He said median wait time has been 10 weeks. Both my Mtn trackers were 9 weeks or less from order date to shipping notification. Manners? Well I've been waiting for one I ordered mid Jan.

Interesting, having more options in the aftermarket stock business seems to be helping wait times there. My last was about 8 months.

If you like light stocks, the Echelon CF Versa is a nice stock. Trigger reach is ~same as RS, vertical grip, negative comb, butt is close to bore line.

Notable differences are not having a straight toeline and forend...it's a trade off of straight line tracking on rests and built positions vs an angle change. I've spent a lot to time shooting one and haven't had any trouble staying on target. There are differences in overall design but if nothing else, it's another recommendation to consider.

Should also be noted that neither of those companies charge you prior to the stock being nearly done.

I like my eh1s
