What SXS if you were buying one tomorrow?

Did the Polaris thing 2014 crew it was ok.
Next was 2016 Honda 1000-5 again ok, but small.
Last 2020 Can am pro xt HD 10. still is and has been a great and reliable machine. My hounds and plenty of Elk hauling with this rig.

I’ve been a Polaris guy, looking to add a sxs to the two Polaris sportsman’s I have now. It will come to value for the dollar as my Polaris dealer so also a can am dealer. So if they are equal in price I’ll buy the bigger motor, but I’m going for a Polaris unless something happens w the price or I can’t pass up a can am.

I was at a tractor dealer that also sold Polaris. There was a 4-door side x side for $42,000.00!
That was more than the john deere with loader and mower I was looking at.

I could get a beater jeep and rebuild it and have an actual vehicle.
These sxs are legal to drive on the road in my town. These folk most have 6-year loans on them

Yeap, Just seen one at $65000. Not for me, I bought my Can am for $20000 out the door in 2020. I paid $28000 for my 2013 wrangler unlimited and it has AC and heat.

I purchased a Polaris RZR 800 in 2013, 13 years ago for past elk hunts in several states. It's been a beast. Never had a single issue with it, it has been 100% reliable. If I was in the market for one I'd get another in a heart beat! -- Still have the 2013!

Pioneer 1000-5 heat issue solution:

Cut a sheet of the foil-faced bubble insulation to fit under seat.

Install a 3" bilge fan under the seat that blows air on the header pipes and out the back of the machine.

Fix < $40

Ya wild thing is go look at the razor r and you can get up close to 100k and people are buying them all the time.

Based upon discussions I have weekly with my local mechanic who maintains everything with a motor on several large large ranches. Can Am would be the recommendation.

That is solely derived from stories of what he sees and fixes and what he doesn't have to fix.

I have a '16 full cab pioneer and at the same time a 19 defender max. after one season I kept the Honda. The heat and especially steam in the cab is frustrating at time on hot days, but i like the transmission way better and the gearing in the can am seemed ridiculously low and made hill climbing way more difficult. I could climb hills in the honda that the can-m wouldn't get up in loose dirt and rocks. The new full-cab (limited) defenders are very nice and a 6x6 is in the future. The extra wheels will make the difference in the hill climb and the 6 foot bed is amazing. I just need to suck it up and make the $36k purchase. If anyone wants to make a fleet deal (if thats a thing) on 6x6s let me know.

Was looking at these before I bought a Honda this fall. Was an Expedition sitting waiting for a new motor, had a couple hundred km’s on it and the owner brought it in for a turbo.

Dealer said he was better than $100k deep and the new motor hadn’t shown up yet…. Cdn dollars mind you.

Yeah I think they are too haha. I was originally thinking of getting a Kodiak 450 or 700 atv but this popped up on the closeout deal and I couldn’t pass up the price. Have been looking at getting one in the past. I think it’s gonna be the perfect hunting Sxs. Plenty capable suspension and ground clearance, and a nice sized bed for hauling gear and an elk or deer. Looking forward to using it a lot this year.
