What should be my next cartridge?

Dangerous game rifles are my thing.

So far I own them in 375HH, 416 Rigby, 458 WinMag and my latest 470 NE.

You own a few thumpers?

Comparatively, no. A New Haven model 70 .375 and a .338 win mag that I love. A .45/70 single shot for primitive season down here.

Considering selling the .375 to get a .458 for no logical reason whatsoever other than I just want one. .375 ammo has gotten pretty expensive and the .458 could use the same cast bullets as my .45/70, so that's my justification....

Well that didn't last long.

I ended up selling the 500NE for a 470NE and sold the 6.8 Western as well.
Still undecided what to replace the 6.8 with so for now my 338WM will be my do all mountain rifle.

Imo 6.8W -> 300 WSM. Shoots anywhere from 150-200+gr projectiles depending on what you want. People love em cut down all the way to 18” or a sweet spot in 20-22” (lightweight, easy to hike around). Short action (or LA and long bot metal to give you freedom for seating depth if handloads). Significantly less recoil than the 338 but still plenty of power for anything in NA

Idk, kinda just a right between cartridge with your 30-06 and 338WM, but IMO best of all worlds. Get the WSM, sell the -06 and 338, and buy something else (or 2)
