What should be my next cartridge?

A 270 Win or a 6.8W would fit in nicely. Notice seem to preder classic cartridges so If get one of the browning xbolts in 270 with 7.5 twist can have best of classy and new

6mm Creed

Does great with 70-110 gr bullets. Great for coyotes - deer and many use it for Elk and sheep effectively. Very easy to load for, great options for rifles, factory ammo, and reloading components

Well that didn't last long.

I ended up selling the 500NE for a 470NE and sold the 6.8 Western as well.
Still undecided what to replace the 6.8 with so for now my 338WM will be my do all mountain rifle.

If your 223/556 is an AR , I would suggest a 223 bolt rifle. I shoot mine more than everything else I own combined.

I'll forever have a selection of 223 rifles. Currently we have 2 bolt actions and well outfitted in the AR category. My kids love shooting them all.

I regrouped them into categories that make sense to me. Looks to me you are light on shotguns, light on cool old black powder cartridges, light on more modern centerfire rifles, and heavy on the big bore magnums. A couple of my choices might be:
*a 20ga shotgun
*a second 223 if you only have 1...perhaps a bolt gun if you have an AR, or vice versa
*Any modern short-action cartridges designed for longer-range performance: 22creed, 6creed, 6.5creed, 6 arc, etc. The 6.5cm is the only duplicate in caliber, but you'd get standard fast-twist and ammo avialbility over the swede
*a 6.5prc ditto above just with more velocity.
*If you just cant stomach doing anything modern, then a fast-twist 243, 270win or 7mm08 could do the same-ish as the above with handloads. Or just the standard twist stuff is still a gap in your quiver.
*another different old-school blackpowder cartridge, maybe 45-90 or 50-90, etc. Maybe a highwall or something like that??
*a 6.8w, 280ai, 7prc, 300winmag, 300prc, etc arent there, but seem to me to more closely duplicate what you already have between the 3006 and 338wm.

Most Rok-brains have moved to 22lr or 17HMR for their big game cartridge to protect their delicate flesh from the savage recoil of anything larger than .243 diameter.

I have a 6.8 Western and love it, you will too.
