What do y'all do with meat when bouncing around out west?

If you don’t want to have to worry about it, take it to a butcher or meat locker where you’ll be hunting elk and pick it up after they butcher a bear and elk for you. You’re welcome 😉🏹🏹🏹
 
I skin and quarter animal and take it to someone who can freeze quarters whole. Wrap in a large plastic bag to keep from drying. Pick up when your headed home and thaw/butcher when you get there.

Freezing twice is not ideal but still produces excellent meat. The thought of trying to load and manage ice and meat in heavy damp coolers for days is backbreaking and a recipe for compromised meat.
