What Did You Do With Your Old CDs?

I recently upgraded from my old truck that had a cassette player in it to a vehicle with no CD player. I’ve got probably 20-30 CDs of great music. I can’t think of a reason to keep them, and I don’t like holding onto things for the sake of it. Vinyls have come back but I don’t see that happening with CDs.

What have you done with your old CDs?

Mine sit in a case somewhere in my storage room. I don't think I even have a stereo or way to play them now.

If I want to listen to music that's on those CDs, I'll just put them on a spotify playlist and stream it.

Not everything on CD is available on streaming services. So if you value any of those, keeping them would be good. They can be transferred into your iTunes library if you're into the Apple ecosystem. Depending on what sound system you have in your vehicle, you may enjoy having those CDs on a USB stick and be able to play those songs on your drive.

I threw them out. Then paid for a lot of it again on iTunes as I wanted to hear it. A fool and his money I suppose.

I have no idea what happened to my old ones but I just bought a new Motley Crue CD. I keep a half dozen in the truck for when I'm driving around areas with no service and bad radio stations. I know I can download anything for off grid situations but there's just something good about CDs and trucks and two tracks.

I still have my leather zip up 300 CD binder with the slots in it. It’s in my office and I flip through all the “pages” every few years. Good memories.
