What did you do in the reloading room today?

Loaded 100 rounds of 22-250 AI and 53 gr Vmax. These are scooting along right at 3700 out of my 22" barrel. There's some more room to go in the case for sure, but I'm not sure how many RPMs these can handle, so I'll stick with them. This barrel has about 900 rounds on it, so I'll probably ride with this until it dies.

Should work well on rock chucks soon!

Cleaned the 7prc so I could start from srcatch and loaded up some rounds with the new SAC decapping mandrel. Hit the range and shot a cpl leftovers first then a few more of the new version reloads. Had enough of the 15mph wind and came home but I really like that die setup. One stroke of the handle and the brass is done. .308 neck/shoulder bushing and a .280 mandrel, .003 shoulder bump.

Isn't a 0.308 bushing sizing down the neck a bunch?

Tried reloading 45ACP for the first time on a progressive.

Yikes.
Only put 10 together while I was getting all the measurements and powder thrower dialed in.

They all seemed to feed well when cycled from the mag. We shall see…

Went with the following recipe:
230gr round nose berrys plated bullets.
5.5gr CFE Pistol
CCI 300 large pistol primers
Starline brass.
1.250”

Would love to see 750fps out of 5” colt.
Follow up.
Went out in the rain today, and put my first 10 45acp reloads on paper at 25yds.

Don’t put too much stock in the group size, I was more worried I was going to have a squib.

They all went bang.
They all fed without hiccup.
But did not hit the velocity goal. 705fps. Won’t make major power factor.

Next time will bump charge up to 6.0gr cfe pistol, and see how accuracy and reliability fare for an extended range session.

Follow up:
.45 ACP
6.0gr CFE Pistol pushed 230gr Berry’s RN at 770fps.
Excellent accuracy at 25yds with 5” Colt.
10 shots all 9 ring or better at 25yds.
1.25” is feeding very reliably so far.
No ftf over 90 rounds today.

Prepped a hundred rounds of once-fired Hornady 6.5 CM brass.

Started load development for 142-grain MatchkingX and Nosler Partitions for my Sauer 100. Currently looking at the following recipe:

Once-fired Hornady brass
Federal Large Rifle Primers
H4350 - 41 grains
Sierra MatchkingX 142-grain
COAL 2.797” - I tried for longer, but 2.81” was in the lands.

I’m going to have to try the 130-grain TMK in this rifle as well.

I also prepped more .243 Winchester brass and loaded up 20 more 116-grain TMKs. Going to shoot a confirmation group tomorrow and then load up enough to last a while.

Worked up a seating ladder test for 7-08 with 120 TTSXs. Been using the same charge and seating for 13 years, with very good accuracy. Just thought I'd see if I could tighten things up even further.
Also loaded some 139 LRXs for the same 7-08. Increasing my standard charge by .3gr and .6gr, to see if I can attain 2900, and still retain good accuracy.
