You'll continue to see it here, and maybe a few other places where people are interested in realism and data, but the majority of hunters aren't on Rokslide and I suspect the traditional ideology will continue to be passed down for generations. How many people have sold, traded in, or re-chambered their larger caliber rifles for a smaller caliber? I imagine the cost of going to a smaller caliber is keeping some people from making the switch but I’d imagine in a few years the number of 30 cal and magnum rifles sold/offered will be much lower than the .22/.24/6mm/6.5mm if it’s not already. I wonder what will it take for the mainstream masses to see the benefits.
He’s slowly seeing the light, folks! Keep coming, keep coming!I've chambered down a couple of rifles personally. And the more I test the smaller calibers, paired with the right bullets, the more I'm impressed. The wounds are nasty, and the recoil isn't. It's quite the combo.

Absolutely ZERO butthurt here! The more people that keep shooting the large caliber stuff, the fewer are buying my 77's and 8208 XBR.About the only thing any new comer will get from this thread is to simply keep their mouth shut about not agreeing with a .223 or just jump on the bandwagon to advert the little girl giggle emoji's and win aeverytime they make a blue-steel hard on comment about the .223's superiority.
Carry on wolf pack...you're on a role and the comments are really quite entertaining about how butt-hurt you get when someone disagrees.

I was treated just fine pointing my opinion that it is significant that one needs to use appropriate bullets in 223/5.56, and that bullet choice and impact velocity matters more the smaller you go, which means noobs will need to educate themselves before jumping into the small-bore end of the pool.About the only thing any new comer will get from this thread is to simply keep their mouth shut about not agreeing with a .223 or just jump on the bandwagon to advert the little girl giggle emoji's and win aeverytime they make a blue-steel hard on comment about the .223's superiority.

Hahaha let’s not get crazy. I did just order everything for a 26” 6 creedmoorHe’s slowly seeing the light, folks! Keep coming, keep coming!![]()
The speed demon is building a Creedmoor????Hahaha let’s not get crazy. I did just order everything for a 26” 6 creedmoor. But that’s just for squirrels….
I’m hoping to still have the 109 Berger’s around 3050-3100fps. I like that rangeThe speed demon is building a Creedmoor????![]()
Or the 115s?I’m hoping to still have the 109 Berger’s around 3050-3100fps. I like that range
Only if the 109’s don’t shoot. They have the same BC, but the 109’s will go faster. I’m not planning to hunt with it. Just want something new to mess with next year. Maybe a backup hunting gun. I’m have two new 26” 6.5-7 PRC barrels chambered as well, which will be my main hunting cartridge again.Or the 115s?
Or try the 112 Match Burners. Great BC, supposedly very easy to tune. I've flirted with trying them several times but I really like the terminal performance of the ELDM. Mixed reports on the 112 terminal performance, can be very violent fragmentation, perhaps more than I want. I may yet try them at some point.Only if the 109’s don’t shoot.
