A 55gr Nosler .243 going 3900 fps is where its at. The Coyotes get so scared of that bullet they actually die before it hits em.
What gr are you shooting? Friend is running 6arc. I like a 6mm but also like a flat round for night hunting.I just built a 6ARC and have killed a few with it. So far I’m impressed.
I was shoot 65gr bergers but now I’m trying out some 65gr vmax. Might try some 70gr blitzkings nextWhat gr are you shooting? Friend is running 6arc. I like a 6mm but also like a flat round for night hunting.
What kind of twist do you run in that 22-250 barrel?None, I use a 22-250 for Coyotes. Lightweight rifle with easy to load ammunition. Pretty nice to have a laser out to 400 yards with a 50 grain VMAX going 4,005 FPS out of the muzzle.
I just found out about that .22 ARC the other day! That cartridge sounds awesome to me! LIke a Modern day 22-250, but that can hold longer sleeker more modern high-bc bullets!55grn. Vmax out of a .223 . 22arc. Will be my next when they are available.
I was gonna try the tap, but I have a crap load of the vmax. How bad is the pelt damage with the tap..223 with 55 grain Hornady TAP. It’s been good to me. Hard on the dogs.
Good to know, when my supply runs low I'll have to try themNot bad at all it doesn’t seem. I generally shoot about 20 dogs a year and they dump right away. No baseball sized exit holes or anything but I don’t skin them out.
I have a lot of them and they shoot great out of my 24 inch barreled AR so I haven’t tried much else.
