I read where an EU business owner said that Americans made up 50% of his/her business. Another said about 80%. Its only a few examples of course, but it sounds like losing American tourists is going to hurt pretty good.

Not saying its the wrong thing to ban us from visiting and what not. You have to do what you think is best for your country. Hopefully those small businesses figure out a way to make that up though as I cant imagine they will last that long with that big of a loss in revenue.

Glad to see us finally doing something to lower the coronavirus case count!

Coronavirus: Federal government will end funding for 13 community-based Covid-19 test sites, most in Texas

Also in Texas.....

They are offering next day tests to anyone in the state I live in now- they can't give them away and our active cases have plummeted since we opened up. Sure seems like getting outside has helped out population here.

The medical response is directed by the states. The feds support the states. The national borders are controlled by the feds. If you know this, then why would you make a statement which makes no sense?

Border state increased infection numbers and increased rates in migrant workers are complex issues when people have dual citizenship and we all need food here picked to eat. But Dems at the fed level and state level and even some rhinos have fought any border closures for 20 years, and continue to do so because, well if you believe in borders then you are, well you know...rhymes with acist.

Well ironically, for at least this one topic, we should be able to say thank you covid. I am so glad that progressives are starting to see that borders are important for this and many reasons...crime, terrorism, education/assimilation, the environment, jobs, and public health/infectious diseases.

No country knows how many in their country have or have had this disease. All tests are mixed together, if testing at all.

So death per capita might be a better measure. The US is not too bad for a dense country of fat people with multiple chronic illnesses that actually know every single person that dies of covid, and even classifies some as covid related deaths, even when causality is not confirmed.

Get rid of nursing home deaths, and we are right with rural healthy countries who do no testing.

Why should the feds be doing the job of the county health clinics with the acute "crisis" over? You know that money comes from all of us, and should be directed to where it is needed most.

Pray tell anyone, why did the Roosevelt statue thread get locked instead of this cesspool? Someone’s emotions were compromised I gather?

Maybe we will lock it. As I’ve said before, I’ve had my finger on the button many times. But I’d let it stay because it’s been a good source of information if you can weed out the personal attacks. But again maybe it’s time...
What say you @Ryan Avery?

I just don’t know why people don’t leave if it’s so bad here.......

It’s more enjoyable putting icy hot on hemorrhoids than travel there so don’t do me any favors eu.

You are missing the point here. Do you ever go on vacation outside of the United States? Ever traveled outside of it for work maybe? It's pretty nice to have the freedom to do that should you choose to. I'm not talking about moving somewhere else permanently.... Simply having the freedom to roam other countries if I so choose whether that be for work or play. Rather quickly though, our country is getting the reputation of being the flea-ridden dog that nobody wants to touch so better to just keep them away.

Do you think a travel ban against the US is going to last forever? Or did you have a trip planned end of 2020 and aren't too happy that it may be canceled?

We were supposed to be in Canada end of July, but went ahead and canceled it. Now we will just spend our time and money in the states instead.

It must be hard living scared of dieing
There's a difference being those irrationally scared like the people wearing bubble boy suits on hiking trails and people wanting to be cautious in public and don't want to get their at-risk families sick.

Can't say I did have a trip planned but it'd be a nice option. Just glad this is a huge country with lots to explore inside. No, travel bans won't be indefinite but I do think they'll last longer than some think. Until covid subsides, international travel is going to be difficult at best

The EU travel ban just highlights their perception of how poor a job the US is doing in addressing COVID.

Who else here can see the writing on the wall of another round of shutdowns? By the way things are going I would not be surprised in the least to see that happen. However, i don't think people are going to have any of it if it comes to that.

What are we looking at for a death rate now?

Does the EU have a travel ban with any other countries besides the US? Does the EU have a ban on Chinese travel?

Inquiring minds want to know. Those looters and violent protestors, who refused social distancing and face masks, sure spiked the virus rate now in the US. That's why the EU has to institute a ban. lol

New Jersey just added almost 1,900 deaths that they think were from COVID, but were not confirmed COVID.

Edit: For a quick minute Worldometer had them in there listed as today. I then refreshed the page and they disappeared. Maybe the went back and added them in on the days the people passed?

Personally I don't care about the EU's opinion of how we are handling this.

Not sure why it is surprising to anyone that large states with huge metro areas are experiencing large increases in case numbers. You aren't going to stop the virus. Just as well get through it.

The good thing is as the case numbers continue to climb the death rate continues to fall.
