Had a similar situation here with a meak packing plant. South Dakota was all over the news as we were the new leading hotspot in the nation. We were the poster child for stupid behavior because our governor refused to shut down the state.

They addressed the problem at the one facility and our numbers changed immediately.

I know there are still problem areas in the country, newsflash, you expect that. But the media narrative has now changed from US numbers to select states, territories and worldwide numbers.

Closing schools was so worth it, I’m sure those kids will catch up in no time.

“This spring, America took an involuntary crash course in remote learning. With the school year now winding down, the grade from students, teachers, parents and administrators is already in: It was a failure.

School districts closed campuses in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic and, with practically no time at all for planning or training, launched a grand experiment to educate more than 50 million students from kindergarten through 12th grade using technology.

The problems began piling up almost immediately. There were students with no computers or internet access. Teachers had no experience with remote learning. And many parents weren’t available to help.

In many places, lots of students simply didn’t show up online, and administrators had no good way to find out why not. Soon many districts weren’t requiring students to do any work at all, increasing the risk that millions of students would have big gaps in their learning.

We all know there’s no substitute for learning in a school setting, and many students are struggling and falling far behind where they should be,” said Austin Beutner, superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District, in a video briefing to the community on Wednesday.

Preliminary research suggests students nationwide will return to school in the fall with roughly 70% of learning gains in reading relative to a typical school year, and less than 50% in math, according to projections by NWEA, an Oregon-based nonprofit that provides research to help educators tailor instruction. It expects a greater learning loss for minority and low-income children who have less access to technology, and for families more affected by the economic downturn.”

The scariest thing about this thing...to me anyway

We have given away $5,000,000,000,000 in 70 days. A Trillion is 12 godamn zeros. At least here in Texas..which is neither small in size nor population, the odds of dying at this point from COVID are .00036 and I’m here to tell you, people are out and living. Of course this takes exception to the grown men I see wearing a mask in their car..by themselves. It’s nonsense and frankly downright embarrassing that our country is so soft as to buy this shit to the degree that it has.

The Flubros may be right, but I don’t think so. The math doesn’t add up and when we bankrupt our country...that is math that cannot be ignored.

Time to rip the band-aid off and get moving.

You reckon right.

When I read posts like that, I envision you almost getting laid in college. But when the lucky lady asked you to cover your stump you went on some diatribe about how she was squashing your constitutional freedoms. And then she promptly left.
You appear to still be mad over making a fool out of yourself this whole thread.

FWIW, I’ve had my suspicions about which side of the plate you swing from. After hearing that you envision me getting laid, I might have figured it out.

Some recent headlines involving AZ:

Arizona hospitals at 83% capacity, elective surgery may stop
Arizona Calls for Emergency Plan as COVID-19 Spikes After Reopening
Gov. Ducey Continues to Deny Reality as Coronavirus Explodes in Arizona
8 states that experts worry are the new Covid-19 hot spots

AZ just ranked #3 in the nation yesterday for new cases. Although daily testing has increased in AZ, the states positivity rate has also increased from 7.7% to 12.7% over the past two weeks. 27% of Maricopa County's positive results have come in the past week alone. The state has recently passed 80% hospital bed capacity, triggering fresh alarms. Former state health chief Will Humble says that either A) Ducey will need to implement a field hospital plan; B) re-enact stay at home orders; or C) BOTH.

I think the surge in this state is related to a generally dismissive, I'm-over-it attitude, combined with hot AZ temperatures, meaning many people are inside breathing recirculated A/C, so in a way it emulates cooler climates in spring/fall perhaps.

Just poking a little fun at a guy who made a such a big political statement over a minor public health recommendation.

And BTW, the 3rd grade called and wants its burns back.

I wonder now if the best way to track a real bump in numbers of new cases, isn't by doing age adjusted analysis of new deaths? Like AZ, which so far still had the highest new deaths per day over 1 month ago.

I also wonder if some of these governors with extreme lock down and somewhat punitive reopening plans, aren't just shoooting themselves in the foot.

I recently got two calls on the weekend from people who work in WA state, and who found out that someone at their place of employment tested positive, but report that their bosses were keeping tight lipped about it because of fears that the state would shut down the business, instead of doing contract tracing with quarantine of only close contacts, while allowing the business to stay open.

Neither guy reports ever being contacted by public health as part of any contract tracing investigation interestingly.

We go back to asking ourselves the question, "we realize the testing is a sham, right?"

The dangerous position covid puts us in is that it doesnt matter if it's real or not the tests will determine the outcome. The masses who wear masks and bow to the cult leaders pushing BLM, Antifa and Covid will do whatever they say even if they know the tests are faulty.
The guy at work in my opinion is doing the right thing. Nobody needs to know because honestly it's probably just a bad flu or cold.

There are SO many real reports of governors sending people who arent even sick into places with sick people just to send them on a railroad path to intubators and ventilators into a coma pumped full of drugs to the point if they survive they have a very high chance of coming out of it handicapped (mentally retarded) or dead. Now you tell me, is that sick AF and signs of a sociopath or what? And these are leaders of this country knowingly doing it. And it goes back to the testing.

Sad stuff is that a lot of doctors and nurses are so washed up in the run for profit education system that they are doing what they are trained to do following directives. There are some who have a conscience but many simply follow orders....
It is sickening. And it isnt ALL nurses and doctors, please dont mince my words.

Dont even get me started on the riots.

BTW, a lot of the stock market is propped up by government bailouts. This is where a lot of the trillions in debt came from and why that one guy, Steve Mnuchin says we cant afford another shutdown. Oh, cant afford it and the entire globe wont buy it so we will just burn it to the ground and start a fake race war. Look up crime statistics. White people and cops are largely innocent in comparison and also why would the FBI be censored on social media for posting such statistics? 🤔Because the technocrats in Silicon Valley are in bed with the radical left and the Chinese way.
Who the hell thinks it's a good ides to get rid of the police? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

They are intentionally destroying America. Brace yourselves for the next fake whatever TF that is. We arent even half way into 2020 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤨

Someone in my office got the wuflu. He tested positive Sunday. Everyone was told to leave the floor to deep clean it and come back in tomorrow. Everyone has been very vigilant, but not worried, because we are engineers. I'm not concerned. I don't eat in the office and wash my hands often. That's the only one at work who's got it. I think my brother got it in January. He didn't get tested. Bill

Won't have increasing case numbers if you slow down testing...what the actual f$ck is going on.

I'm with him. People are getting tested here in Az and testing positive with no symptoms. Holy balls, maybe we should test everyone for the flu every year and see how many have it and die "because" of it. Over 28 million tests, 10% positive.
