One of our employees gets the call her grandpappy tested positive before a surgery last Monday at work midday after having contact with everyone. They did surgery because he was septic. She gets tested, finally retest him and after a full week of the pucker factor the results come back on Sunday, False Positive test and the retest was negative and employees test was negative, so giving her grandpappy a hug at a mother’s day dinner didn’t spin completely out of control after all. However all of these people being involved in some kind of medicine created a total shit show that trickled down really far and had far reaching effects for a week. The only thing I have learned about this Kung Flu the last few months is that a bunch of talking heads don’t know jack shit! Personally I think these people in the areas that have all the virus carriers need to be restricted from traveling to rural areas, I would put a big hot wire up around those anti hunting, anti gun , disease ridden varmints in New York, Chicago, Detroit, etc. and not let them out into our world again. I also have developed a new habit that I see spreading amongst those few Americans left with a brain, that is to check out the where it’s made label before purchase, those Chinamen that saved face by causing me so many pains in my ass won’t be getting my U.S. dollars if I can help it for the garbage they ship over here!

Most Americans are really addicted to the cheap consumeristic Wally World / Dollar Store / Amazon junk they buy in mass. Buying USA made, or other non-China will definitely $$$ more. It'll be interesting to see whether Corona changes American's buying behaviors in the long run.

It won't change a bit. A large % of Americans can't afford things made in the USA. Clothes, electronics, etc.

Some things that we depend on, it's not even an option. The $1000 smartphone that everyone has, is just one example.

China is growing and becoming quite powerful.

a digression: I’m seeing picture and stories about these “clever” devices that attach to public bathroom door handles so you don’t have to touch them when you exit.

question: why in the living hell did it take until now for people to understand that no one wants to touch a disgusting, fecal and urine splattered, disease-ridden door handle?

Our county just made it mandatory to wear a mask when inside any public place (grocery, etc). County has 15 total cases, 0 deaths. WA, not the same state I grew up in anymore.

In an effort to not be out dumbfucked by any other governor. The Kansas governor said it is ready to move Kansas to a modified stage two. We are ending stage 1.5. Part of modified stage 2, the casinos and movie theaters open, but I can’t go to a swimming pool, to a parade, or summer camp.
But I can go to a dirty ass casino surrounded by a bunch of people chain-smoking touching every goddamn thing.

Well yea. . . That casino brings in a good chunk of tax revenue and that pool, camp ground and parade are probably revenue neutral to losing money.

Gotta open up the tax producing things first! (The reopening isn't about safety, it's about appearing like you are protecting people while getting the economy going again. And to the states, that means getting tax money flowing ASAP!)

Most state budgets are already screwed for the year so they are going to do whatever they can to get things going.

Well you’re correct on all points. Kansas is looking around the $650 million deficit. More than likely it’ll be much worse than that.

That's because it's now the city state of Seattle.

King County isn't even legally required to wear them. They're just strongly urging people to. Where you at?

I am jealous of the OP. It is now my life goal to start a thread one day that gets over 4K responses on Rokslide.

I've come across news reports saying that they will spread across the entire US within 2-3 years.
Oddly enough, the bees live in tropical climates. 98% of the US is a tropical climate.

So, gym is open......cannot shower or change clothes in the locker room which sucks for people coming from work and they shortened the hours of operation so you almost have to go directly from work....the stupidity of government is awesome. You can stand next to someone @ the sinks and wash your hands but cannot go into a separate shower stall and wash your body. At least masks are not mandatory.

This is interesting:
my fast research shows...
2017-18 flu deaths were 79,000.
2018-19 flu deaths were 61,000.
2019-20 flu deaths were under 20,000.
