"At Brooklyn’s Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, staff were seen disposing of gowns, caps and other protective gear in a sidewalk trash can on Thursday after loading bodies into a refrigerated truck."

Masks? We must be lucky, for five bucks extra we have the groceries delivered right to the house. Sort them into the garage fridge and wash our hands. After a couple of days we start bringing them in the house. Daily mail is put in a box in the garage, then we wash our hands and 2 days later open the bills. I have 3 boxes for mail I rotate through. Same with the amazon boxes. Other then gas, theres no reason to leave the house. I have a thousand house projects I can do to stay entertained. The isolation from all this is killing me- just drive past the house sometime, I’ll smile and wave at you with a beer in my hand.

Don't read the Daily Mail. Ferguson has been all over the place with everything. 0 consistency in anything he'd saying.

Did you read his clarification and the updates to that story? You don’t have to be a genius to understand that if the inputs to the model change the outputs change, even if the model remains unchanged.

If models and stats are so great how did this catch us by surprise?

Everyone who say those stats should have been prepared.

And you'll still get it at some point.

I’m not a dr. or contagious disease researcher, but I do listen to those that are.

There doesn’t seem to be much debate:

The current guidelines won’t “snuff” out Covid. They will just flatten the curve to mitigate casualties while we get the infrastructure in place to:

1. Develop treatments and equipment to further mitigate casualties.
2. Get to a status of herd immunity WITH the help of effective vaccines.

The good news is, while we all do our part to follow the guidelines and flatten the curve of this first wave, we can poke around Rokslide, talk hunting, and support each other.

I think this is optimistic. There is a vast gulf between where we are and herd immunity, and while I support getting there faster, I don’t see a politician with the guts to do anything logical here.

I am not sitting inside looking out the windows for a few months......this might peak in 4 weeks or maybe longer and then 9-10 weeks for it to simmer down with still a lot around.....then second wave in the fall.

Better to burn out or fade away?

I did not see a national advisory from cdc or kung flu task force for everyone to wear masks.....I heard it would be announced within a few days.
What does 'reserved' mean?

If people have a 95 mask are you saying that they cannot wear it and have to give it to the government?

It means the N95 masks being procured will not be available to the public.

Not sure who to blame. Leaders or news media for the conflicting recommendations. I know the news folk aren't exacty specialists or scientists.

We had a mayor say to mask up yesterday when they shut the state down.

I wore a mask and gloves to grocery today. About 25-30% had masks, 40% or so had gloves.

Folks looked at me funny but eh, it's time to buckle down.

The people without masks looked at you funny. Well being stupid is a constitutional right that cannot be taken away, despite any shutdown or regulations passed by politicians.

I think it’s best to plan for the worst. Get it in your head that it’s long term, and think about how to take care of your, and your loved ones, mental health. I can’t, at this time see an end in sight. Maybe an antibody test can ease some anxiety? Maybe if we see that our healthcare system is keeping up, that will give some comfort? Maybe if we find out that the death rate looks worse than it is because they’re testing mostly sick patients, that’ll give some relief? Right now there’s too much uncertainty on too many levels to feel comfortable about anything. Play it safe. Make a plan that includes things that keep your mental health in order. If it goes long term (6+ months) people are going to have mental health issues with lack of socializing and lack of purpose. Figured out how to FaceTime or Zoom your loved ones.

while the democrat politicians continue to play their stupid games and put lives at risk, Trump and his task force is doing a job better than anyone could when put in the position this country is right now … then along comes Schumer and Trump has to set him straight … one of many reason I love my President !!

Democrat politicians in CA were way ahead of Trump on a response to COVID-19. Generally speaking, I deplore most decisions they make but they were weeks ahead of Trump on this.

The masks other than N95 are backordered until mid June.

I don’t understand why healthcare workers aren’t using elastomeric half or full face respirators. They have better protection than N95’s, fit easier, more comfortable, and you can clean and reuse every day. I ordered some spare P100 cartridge filters today for $7.

You must read CNN.
CA was one of the first hotspots. The politicians are failing miserably if their timeline is close to the national timeline! The federal government is for backing up the states, not forcing them unless they are really doing poorly. How was CA "weeks" ahead? Trump declared a national emergency 9 days after California.

It doesn't appear medical intervention is all that helpful. Vents are just delaying death for the vast majority. Meds dont seem to be as promising as hoped.

Sure looks like this virus is selecting for certain traits/genetics...

Natural selection kind of sucks when you're IN the game.

Fascinating.

Terrifying.

What planet are you people on that think the Federal Government has done a good job preparing for this? We had months to make preparations and to better equip our hospitals. Did you watch any of the early press conferences? Nobody in government seemed to take this seriously until Mid-March. Not to mention sources saying intelligence resources were warning our administration early on that this could turn serious quickly.

The CDC issued its first warning on Jan 8.
Trump held campaign rallies on:

Jan 9 in Toledo, Ohio

Jan 14 in Milwaukee

Jan 28 in New Jersey

Jan 30 in Des Mones Iowa

Feb 10 in New Hampshire

Feb 19 in Phoenix Arizona

Feb 20 in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Feb 21 in Las Vegas Nevada

Feb 28 in Charleston South Carolina Note: While Trump was at this rally, he referred to the Coronavirus as a hoax.

Senate voted to acquit Trump of his crimes on Feb 5th

Trump went golfing on:

Jan 18th at West Palm Beach

Feb 1st At West Palm Beach

Feb 15th at West Palm Beach

Mar 7th at West Palm Beach

Mar 8th at West Palm Beach

The first time Trump admitted the coronavirus might be a problem was Mar 13th. Below are Trump Quotes from Jan 22nd to March 17th.

Note that on February 20th the Stock Market Crashed.

January 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

February 2: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

February 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

February 25: “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.”

February 25: “I think that's a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

February 26: “The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.”

February 26: “We're going very substantially down, not up.”

February 27: “One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

February 28: “We're ordering a lot of supplies. We're ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn't be ordering unless it was something like this. But we're ordering a lot of different elements of medical.”

February 28: “Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus, you know that, right? Coronavirus, they’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs. You say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’ They go, ‘Oh, not good, not good.’ They have no clue. They don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa.” “They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried it over and over. They’d been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning. They lost. It’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.”

March 2: “You take a solid flu vaccine, you don't think that could have an impact, or much of an impact, on corona?”

March 2: “A lot of things are happening, a lot of very exciting things are happening and they’re happening very rapidly.”

March 4: “If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work — some of them go to work, but they get better.”

March 5: “I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work.”

March 5: “The United States… has, as of now, only 129 cases… and 11 deaths. We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!”

March 6: “I think we’re doing a really good job in this country at keeping it down… a tremendous job at keeping it down.”

March 6: “Anybody right now, and yesterday, anybody that needs a test gets a test. They’re there. And the tests are beautiful…. the tests are all perfect like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect. Right? This was not as perfect as that but pretty good.”

March 6: “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it… Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

March 6: “I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault.”

March 8: “We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus.”

March 9: “This blindsided the world.”

March 9: "The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant.”

March 10: "It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away."

March 13: National Emergency Declaration

March 13: “I don't take responsibility at all”

March 15: "TODAY IS A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. GOD BLESS EVERYONE!"

March 16: "I give myself a 10 out of 10"

March 17: “I’ve always known this is a real—this is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”
