Well ok then....

"nobody want to work anymore" said every old fart, since time immemorial. I have a bunch of 18-28 year olds that work for me and they all have a crazy good work ethic. surprisingly, or not, its the old dogs that want to look at their phone and can not be asked to learn a new skill.

however, I notice that money itself doesn't seem to be the driving factor for the younger ones. mentorship and experience, enjoying what they do is a much stronger motivator.

we can still produce high tech, high precision materials in this country and that is what we should be chasing, which means promoting science and engineering. but we seem to be going the opposite way, chasing shoe and phone factories.

I don’t know, I told my 3 year old she could work in a doll factory when she grows up and she was pretty excited.

EPA is actually the biggest issue, but Unions are a large contributor
So let's pay everyone less, reduce worker benefits/protections, and force them to work more hours if a corporation feels like their investors aren't happy enough. Drain all the wetlands to build factories and put asbestos back in as insulation, just put all the toxic byproducts in the nearest river. F those pansy unions and EPA environmentalist. Gotcha. That's what I want for my kids also.

Thats an extremely MICRO view, With that said the Toyota Tundra is more American sourced and made then GMC/Chevy silverado, W/ no Unions.... the MOST American Made and source truck is the Honda Ridgleline...NON UNION. Weird HOW DO THEY KEEP PEOPLE EMPLOYEED.....seems they are doing fine.

There is good and bad in every agency, preventing toxic chemicals is GOOD, making it cost prohibited through permitting etc, to update a factory/or powerplant to reduce emissons by 30% is bad. The EPA has turned into the strong arm of a left political system. Natural Gas power plants are a perfect example. They will permit 1000's of acres of deforestation with a d10 bull dozer for Solar Farms, but good luck getting a Natural Gas power plant. At this point we are close to burning/flaring off more Natural Gas then we use.

Like I said Micro view, If you don't want mfg'ing in the US its easy, just sick the EPA on it........

Good lord, exaggerate much? Nobody is saying just let things be a free for all, but some of the red tape needs cutting. There are so many regs it’s getting ridiculous.

Maybe so. That's what sarcasm and satire is. My only point is that regulations are in place for a reason. Usually because people died, rivers were catching on fire, etc. Keep the regulations and publish clear guidance, simply the permitting process... Maybe start there. There are ways to help without tearing stuff apart. Start gutting regulations and people will find ways to exploit it and there will be plenty of unforseen consequences.

I think the concern is that the guy overseeing the cutting was recently on stage with a chainsaw, and that’s is pretty much how the cuts are going.

They have cut 165B out of 1.7T annual deficit. We need 10 more chainsaws just to break even and another 10 to start chipping away at the debt. You guys act like a bunch of school girls that got cut off from daddy's credit card.

Reducing the debt is an illusion, the proposed budget basically has us spending the same $$$ just reallocating funding towards defense. So you eliminate biology and wildlife departments, sell public lands, and piss it away at the DoD.

110 days in and the last 40 years of overspending should be solved....lmao. I will give it 4 years. If spending is down he did what he said he would. If not he failed at that promise. He is deporting illegals, attempting to get us out of wars overseas, closing some of the 750 military bases overseas, crushed DEI bullshit, trying to close USAID, DEPT of ED, Etc., attempting to get rid of income taxes on SS, negotiating trade deals favorable to the US, etc. If he gets 25% of what he wants the US wins. If not oh well we will eventually go bankrupt and probably be speaking mandarin. You won't need to worry about hunting then.

Seriously. It's like some have given up on any desire to try and get Americans working blue collar jobs. It's just "easier" to buy from other countries. Sad. Why not try something new and see what happens? Maybe it fails miserably, maybe we become less foreign dependant. 🤷
My guess is Millennial or gen Z'er. I agree it is sad the majority of people today are soft, self entitled, and can't bare the thought of the slightest discomfort.
