The Orion has made a good training gun this summer. I can police my shells, meet the break action requirements of some places, and put the pattern on the birds.
Great stuff, I bought the 28 last year. Did take awhile to learn the gun, still learning. One day I can hit well, the next day I suck. I'm going to pattern it , great idea. Hopefully I'll be ready for Dove season.
Weldor, how are you holding the foreend? I took a lesson when I had the stock shortened on my 28 ga Franchi. He told me to hold the forearm with your index finger pointing parallel with the barrel so basically thumb and forefinger on the foreend. The rationale is that you can easily follow a bird flying by pointing your finger at it.
