Weatherby Orion SxS 20ga Shotgun Review **Updated 11/1/25**

Thank you for the info. Mine has always worn a Slymar vest and although it does work very well I'd like to try something with a little bit more front leg protection. I saw them at Pheasant Fest and thought they were a nice vest, they just weren't making XS sizes then.

That is where I saw them as well. My dog measures a different size for each measurement on their chart, so she is in a medium. The only wonky part is on her shoulders the zipper bunches up a little like a camel when she is stationary. I have some other products made of the super fabric skid plate part, and it is some incredibly tough stuff.

We went out for Prairie Chickens to check that box, but still don't know what one smells like or looks like. Two beautiful roosters were tracked and pinned down separately which was neat to see her remember what they do.

As we were walking back to the truck in defeated moral victory, a mourning dove glided towards us from far enough away to get off the road, sit, stay, and load a shell. Kent #7.5 from a modified barrel allowed us to check the dove box.

I reviewed your review on the Weatherby Orion and your, "mixed breed" puppy. Your puppy/dog is absolutely identical to mine and mine is not a mixed breed. My dog is a registered Pudelpointer. She is an absolutely outstanding pointer and retriever. I had her out in Kansas last weekend and killed a rooster. I saw it fall dead at a fence line in deep scrub. I called my dog to come and help me. She went right through the fence and kept running. I unsuccessfully tried calling her back to find the downed bird at the fence line. I looked up and there she was 150 yards out chasing my downed bird. She caught it and immediately retrieved it to me. I believe your dog is a Pudelpointer. Google that and you will see what I mean.

Yes, the mom is a PP and dad is a GWP. She has made it hard to look for another Pudelpointer because she reminds me that dogs are much more than what's on a pedigree paper.
