Maybe! What are your plans?

Without knowing the draw results my plans are sept 15-20 to be in either pasayten or alpine wilderness area for high buck and 12-20 in the blues for deer. Will be in little Natchez for most of modern elk after that I don't have plans yet.

Every year it seems like WDFW does something goofy with the draw. I'm into our state as a res for $600 with my fresh water fishing license. $364 of that was for Multi deer & Elk but still without that it's nuts what they charge. That does not include Saltwater, turkey, waterfowl or small game. I'm not overly optimistic about being selected.
Sitting on:
15 Moose points
15 Sheep points
7 Buck points
7 Quality Deer points
16 Quality Elk points
5 Bull points
16 Goat points
6 2nd Deer points
I hear ya Tyson. Its getting to be not much more $ to hunt out of state! Its unfortunate because I feel WA has some serious potential for GREAT hunting if it was managed a little differently...
I agree completety. The biggest change I have been wanting to see is for OIL tags. I want WA to follow Idaho and require a hunting license to apply for these and maybe only let a guy apply for one OIL tag each year, instead of all three. That way you don't have everyone and they're brother throwing in because it's cheap and with little restriction. This would mostly limit or reduce Non Res apps into the system of the OIL tags. The odds are so slim. Making you front the full tag fee also seems like a decent idea, like the old days here in WA.
That would help out OIL for sure.
I'd like to see the high hunt go to a draw...generous amount of tags but still limit them.
I've thought about that too. The only issue I see with that is this. . . Say you give oh I dont know 1000 tags? Every guy who draws that tag is going to be jacked that he drew a tag and may make a bigger efffort to go hunt on it. You could end up with more hunters than normal? I have seen this in other units that switched from open to drawing with liberal quotas.
There use to hardly be a sole hunting when it was a open unit. The the next season it went to draw for the 100 or so tags and the guys who drew hit it harder than the years past. These are typically the guys that put in and have no idea where the unit is and just picked it because the odds looked good. Just a thought?
Even if you made the high hunt an unlimited hunt like some Idaho hunts and make it where you can't hunt General would make it much better.
