Washington fall bear!

Littlebuf,
I just talked to Branden on the phone and he got a promotion at work which is good but it changes his schedule. Sounds like it might be just the two of us on the trip. How does a 20 mile loop sound? We will be mostly hunting high, off trail basins that look really good.

sounds like a blast. and a good warm up for elk season. you coming by Sunday? we've got some maps to look at.

plus if brandons not there you probably wont hike as fast so I can keep up

Yea sucks cause I was looking forward to letting littlebuff pack out my bear haha

Instead I'll be working that weekend instead :(

you going to make it back at all this year? we could do another trip late September again. ill pack the bear if you sneek a 18 pack into justins T1

I got switched to orange crew so I start days off a week sooner now. So I'll be scouting/hunting the week before now. Same amount of time off just rotated 1 week

I'm more then willing to put a 24 pack in Justins pack if you will pack out my bear haha

with this addition this trip is sounding like ALOT of fun hhaha

I'm not going to make it up to your house tonight because it's my son's 7th birthday. We'll have to get together soon though.

Bear Hunting in WA

The absolute best scenery I have every laid eyes on (throughout the world) was costal WA. I have hunted the Quinault Reservation lands twice and really want to go back again. Huge bears and beautiful scenery. I absolutely loved it. Took a near 7 footer there in 2008.

I prefer hunting bears in the wilderness rather than paying those guys to feed them for me. I have friends who have hunted with them and that is fine but it's just not for me.

How do you guys archery hunt in the rainforest of costal WA? I would love to try it on my own but it gets crazy thick 100yrds off the ocean. I loved the country up there. It was breath taking. The skunk cabbage, the thousands of little waterfalls, the Roosies that you caught a glimps of through the woods. I am not into shooting animals at 150 yrds (or any range) with a rifle, but would love to try it with my bow if it was possible.
