Any thoughts on the potential for this Sportsmen's Alliance petition to remove certain members of the WA fish and wildlife commission? If it were Inslee still I'd be more pessimistic, but Ferguson has already appeared to be more attentive re: rescinding the controversial last minute Inslee appointees.

Commissioners Baker, Lehmkuhl, Smith, and Rowland have shown a consistent pattern of mistreating staff, excluding stakeholders from exercising their Constitutional right to be heard, failing to comply with lawful requests for communications records, and conducting Commission business in secret. These infractions rise above mere accidents or missteps; rather, as outlined above, these Commissioners have acted deliberately, with obvious and repeated disregard for Constitutional rights and Washington law.

They have routinely exposed their incompetence, misconduct, and malfeasance, and they should be removed. Their further service on the Commission will continue to weaken and crater the public’s trust in government and public officials, and they will continue to expose the WDFW and the state to further legal liability. They are unfit to serve, and we respectfully ask that you exercise the power granted to you by the legislature and the Washington Constitution to put an end to these ongoing abuses without delay.

Newberg's recent podcast with Ryan and Jillian Garrett goes into the current state of the Commission as well. Solid listen for WA sportsmen.

This would be a giant success, but it’s WA, and we know things typically don’t go our way. The people that put this into motion deserve some serious praise. I just read through half of the petition and it’s very well done.

Rejoicing and congratulating one another on how good of a “team” they make when they eliminate hunting opportunities...

I’m hopeful the commission is trending a better direction with the latest bear vote, but Smith, Rowland, and Baker drive me nuts. Their deceitfulness and games have been apparent and observable.

Big thanks to the Sportsman’s Alliance!!

Sportsmen's Alliance is doing a fantastic job. The Commission Meeting on Friday 6/27 got pretty spicy.

I hate that the Commissioners got the last word and deflected to the whole Mike Lee fed land sale issue. Total cop out. Next meeting is 7/18/25, web conference. They can't deflect to that anymore. I plan on signing up for public comment.
