Looking to see what people consider a really warm base layer bottom. Wanting to add another base layer option to my kit when the temps get really cold

I think you’ll be best off doing 2 layers. I would do a merino mesh next to skin then something like a grid fleece or an Alpha over that.
Next step would be something like the Kuiu Kenia pants
active so not that much for static. Is the merino mesh effective for static hunting?

Are the strong fleece 290 to bulky to wear when walkingThe very first UA cold gear they came out with is (imo), hands down, the best wicking base layer out there…I usually follow that with with UA 4.0, FL kiln or furnace, and I also use a Kuiu Pro Merino. Also have a Kuiu Strong Fleece 290 thats really warm.

This is what bibs are forI still hunt 100% of the time so I’m only walking it to my stand

With the right layers I think it’s absolutely still effective for static hunting as it traps small pockets of air between your skin and the next layer.active so not that much for static.
