Warmest base layer bottoms

Looking to see what people consider a really warm base layer bottom. Wanting to add another base layer option to my kit when the temps get really cold

Under Armour 4.0 are the warmest ones I have tried.

i did not find anything warmer than 2 layers ... one merino first to the skin then any polartec added to that. but that will not for walking or hiking hard very long ...

I’ll run merino base , stone glacier helio mid layer fleece waffle style material then de havilland, if it’s really cold or glassing I’ll throw on first lite puffy pants they are old, don’t remember what they are called

I think you’ll be best off doing 2 layers. I would do a merino mesh next to skin then something like a grid fleece or an Alpha over that.

Next step would be something like the Kuiu Kenia pants

I’ve been very please with my First Lite.

The very first UA cold gear they came out with is (imo), hands down, the best wicking base layer out there…I usually follow that with with UA 4.0, FL kiln or furnace, and I also use a Kuiu Pro Merino. Also have a Kuiu Strong Fleece 290 thats really warm.

And if you’re taking about the pants, I have those too and they’re not to bad but I still hunt 100% of the time so I’m only walking it to my stand

With the right layers I think it’s absolutely still effective for static hunting as it traps small pockets of air between your skin and the next layer.

But more importantly you’ll be dry when you get where you’re going.
